@ddd@norden.social Wann warst du das letzte Mal in der Gegend? Ich frage das, weil diese Gegend vor etwa drei oder vier Jahren noch völlig sauber war. Die riesigen Sanddünen von früher waren unter Kontrolle gehalten worden, sodass man dort wunderbar entlang spazieren konnte.
Der Weg in der Nähe wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres durch #StormClaudia zerstört, und wir warten immer noch darauf, dass er repariert wird. Es könnte also eine Weile dauern, bis auch dieser Teil wieder in Ordnung ist. Wir werden sehen🤞🏻😅

@collective_truth@mastodon.social That's a good, valid point. I don't share the same experience, but I can see it happening with other people. It wasn't always like that though, was it? I mean, if you look into what #SocialTools did in the late 90s and early 00s they would probably align more with what you're hinting above.
Now that we've lost them, both "older" and younger generations don't want to invest much energy, effort and intent when they know algos run the system. Don't see that happen in #Fediverse.

After 3 months on compassionate leave, today is my 1st official workday of 2026. It's been quite the journey, but as we regain some kind of normalcy in our household (If there ever was one!), hoping to slowly, but steadily, resume my online life & therefore my daily work chores.
It's going to be *totally* weird, a rebirth of sorts, I suppose, as I get to question for myself what kind of digital life I'd want from here onwards, but that's the fun of it, right?

Tribe may well be a different thing for you, or me, or everyone else, but I suspect we all understand we need to expand our circles of influence if we'd eventually want to go somewhere, wherever that may well be. That's why what may work, or not, for you, may work, or not, for others. Your sense of urgency to act may be different to others, specially, if they don't yet experience the downfall yet.
Trying to answer the question "What kind of digital life I'd want from here onwards?" surely is going to be an interesting exercise, giving the current poor state of all things online. Yes, #Enshittification, I'm looking at you!
I've spent the last few days playing catch-up and one thing for sure is that, so far, I know the online places I wouldn't want to return back to.
From there onwards, I guess it's time to explore and figure out what's next!

@collective_truth@mastodon.social Have you ever asked them what their motivations & incentives are for having built what they have built up? Perhaps you're having far too many high hopes on certain folks whose incentives are completely different to yours and what you're aiming at.
We can't expect people to jump in to something that may well not be in their own radar to want to do something about it for whatever the reason. That's what I was referring to earlier about finding your own tribe. They do that, too.

I can see an issue there, they prefer not to engage with those behind anonymity for that specific reason to avoid potential further trouble.
