Day 47 of being unemployed. Rejection has become natural, and I don't know what to do except keep going. The world is very different from the last time I was going through this. I'm trying to keep my chin up, but the fears are creeping in.

The Neo-Nazi show at the Wisla Club in Garfield has been canceled! Granted, the Wisla club is still disclaiming any responsibility, but a win is a win.

Well, it's official. I've been #unemployed for over 24 hours. I've already started putting out applications, even before filing for unemployment - that'll be a task for tomorrow or Friday.
Seven and a half years of my life were dedicated to that company. It's not hard for me to say that they kept me alive through the 2020 lockdowns.
Now it's time to take my next step. I'd wish for luck, but I don't need that. I need a job that suits my experience.

I really, really hate doing things like this - but, please, don't buy the Signature Select / Acme Supermarkets bacon. Before it fully cooks, it turns into blackened, smoking charcoal. It's set off my fire alarm once, and today, I thankfully caught it before that happened.

@pafurijaz@mastodon.social Half the point of #FOSS (or more than half, for a lot of people) is the "free as in beer" element. If they were willing to pay for things, they'd be in the Windows or Mac walled gardens. That's just the reality of the situation. Create a tool for everyone, and everyone will use it until they need to pay up.
It never rains but it pours. I've been doing good husband things since last night. And as I thought I would have time to chill, Mom needed me, so I ended up doing good son things.
Does it ever slow down?

There's more than one option of adblocker. It could be Adguard, AdBlockPlus, uBlock Origin, Adblock Legacy, or even a Pi-Hole. So it's a single adblocker,

@rastilin@aus.social @pafurijaz@mastodon.social I don't see a likelihood of users or corporations being willing to pay for open source. If payment changes hands, that's a contract. And I'm sure that everyone wants a contract that protects them from anything that might go wrong.
I hope that everyone else is doing well, #TGIF ! The only hassle I'm having is the allergies. Then again, even my cat is sneezing from the pollen!

No, it can't be free, because the exchange of money for goods or licensed services implies that the creator must provide the product or service in a functional state. And, it means that even the most permissive license is binding. You own nothing and must be happy.
