me when a project has <5 power rails: i don’t understand why people use power modules, it’s so easy to do
me when a project escalates again: what do you mean 11 rails, fuck this shit. i wish there was a module for this…

TIL i can just type "−2=−1.22×(x+500k)/500k" in qalculate to solve for feedback resistors.

now i finally don't need to shuffle the equation around in my head anymore :3

hey #electronics #lazyweb, does anyone know a *negative* LDO that has sub-10µV rms output noise and is not from ADI?
i'm looking for parts that aren't as expensive as the analog ones and closest thing i got is TPS7A30 with 15µV rms

one day i need to take inventory of my voltage references, but not today *puts ref54 sample baggie into drawer*
*finds ref70, ref80, adr1001 while looking quickly*

oh huh, the spice-crypt project is gone without any notice as to why...
there's still mirrors and debian has it but so strange.

let's see if this sense resistor layout (https://www.analog.com/en/resources/analog-dialogue/articles/optimize-high-current-sensing-accuracy.html) makes a difference with generic current sense resistors

doing @fafo@social.fa-fo.de logistics, looking at what stuff from the lab we should take.
big ass bottle of carbon-tet in the corner.
yeah, not taking that one.

edit: sorry, false alarm, it’s the wrong tet. tetrafluoride not tetrachloride.

and now with all the part numbers for JLC and generic added. the important DRC violations have also been fixed. just needs a round or two of checking everything and also cleanup.

@q3k just make sure it‘s far enough from the current tech blast radius, otherwise you might have to ask yourself the same question a few years later again

@true_facts@cathode.church good question, depending on what is getting fried there’s different power sources that can be used to achieve thorough heating.

@equinox@chaos.social well, i wanted to rip it all up anyways :D and better now then with a dremel later. and yeah, i can just use a load-switch and tie it to the fpga nrst to create that net, that's probably the best solution.

@equinox@chaos.social it's already a part grave, i can fit in one more if it takes up less space than the discrete solution

@equinox@chaos.social oh yeah, good catch, i definitely either mirrored the supplies once too often or once too few. thanks 😬 gonna update it real quick and push the fixed schematic.

@ldcd@social.treehouse.systems i would probably go with the TPS7A3901 again, i've used it in such a design before and it's <1€ when sourced from LCSC

@Thunderbolt93@chaos.social oh routing isn't the issue, it's placement. routing will be easy once i place everything in a way that it all falls together.

@dlharmon@chaos.social thanks a lot! yeah, definitely need to add a bunch more ground vias and i'll try to find a better cap for that one. i haven't quite started on full part selection yet and will keep that in mind.
