Clemens Nylandsted Klokmose
Professor @ Computer Science, Aarhus University. Arcade game enthusiast. Bass player.
I am recruiting a Ph.D. student!
The Ph.D. will explore generative user interfaces (GenUI): UIs that are partially or fully generated to fit needs, skills, circumstances, or preferences using generative artificial intelligence.
We are concerned with how this can be done in a way so professional computer users maintain control, ownership, and autonomy.
The deadline for applying is August 1st 2026 with a start of the Ph.D. in January 2027.

Hanging out on late.sh (https://late.sh) tonight. It's a weird and janky Discord/IRC/MUD-thing running in the terminal with ssh. It's most likely vibe coded and a completely centralized benevolent dictator-run thing. But its... pretty fun!
Kære dansktalende på Mastodon.
Min familie vil gerne have hjælp med at finde danske ord der rimer på 'Clemens'. De er dybt frustrerede over ikke at kunne bruge rim i deres daglige mobning af deres respektive far og husbond.
This brings back memories!
I got online at home spring 1996. WebCrawler was my search engine of choice.
My good colleague @floe@hci.social at Aalborg University is looking for a PhD student in stuff that is relevant to the software you are currently reading this text from!
The topic is Decentralized and federated cloud computing

RE: @clemens@social.multiverset.net
Deadline August 1st!
@vga256@mastodon.tomodori.net in case you haven't seen, your Kiki framework is currently on the front page of Hacker News.
Hey @vga256@mastodon.tomodori.net! Just finished your Mages & Modems book. Thanks for a great read! I could relate to a lot of your early computer experiences, although mine started a few years later. Perhaps I should try to note some of my own down too some time.
One of the first one was playing Karateka and Space Invaders in DOS on a 8080 in my dad's physics lab. Must have been in 87 or 88. Lots of phone-line-blocking family agony in my past too.
Had the pleasure of hosting the 2nd Software Substrates workshop yesterday together with my co-organiser Antranig Basman.
See more here: https://2026.programming-conference.org/home/substrates-2026
The position papers will be put online shortly.

Hey @vga256@mastodon.tomodori.net, I don't know if you are into prog rock but here's a band that names Ultima as inspiration and builds wild scifi-fantasy universes in their songs.
