How about: yes, it’s *plausible* that it could be an accident, but I don’t *believe* that it was an accident and they haven’t made any statement about it being an accident.

@kim@post.lurk.org @wheresalice@woof.tech I read it as “but what if they were?” What if you didn’t need to be handed a system by a gigacorp but could instead grow your own and maintain it - indefinitely - without any side effects on the planet? Few of us have the knowledge to move it forward, but if you want to follow the tag it’s because you want to read the stories from those that do.

@menelion @hillu That’s just not going to happen. I read it as the Zig devs controlling *their* workflow only. Package management in Zig is decentralized, that’s 100% in your control. Plus, there is no venture capital involved that would force them to betray us. Caveat, I qualify as an AI hater (see previous note on venture capital).

And I deeply hope that this is a problem with ‘vocal’ rather than a problem with ‘computer programmers’. The pro-LLM crowd is so *very* vocal.
