It's like a different world on this side of the Pennines

Had another lovely day at the Anarchist Studies Network conference. Despite me not being very booksmart I was made very welcome
Being in an explicitly anarchist space always feels like coming home
I made my first shitty zine with a bunch of quotes from the last two days. I may share it at some point
Last day in Manchester tomorrow. Early dinner meetup anyone?

I've had this stuck in my head ever since leaving work on Friday, it might be the soundtrack to this week of adventures

Wandering around Manchester before my conference starts and so much has changed since I was last a regular here.

Met one of the people behind this documentary on grassroots food production and distribution in London today
Really great to see so many groups not just getting people fed but also considering the social and ecological impact of that work
The Social Life of Food: Movements for Justice and Local Resilience
Back into Manchester for the main day of the Anarchist Studies Network conference

I missed today's Anarchism 101 session, but the organisers guide for running similar sessions looks really good
At a train station in Yorkshire
A large group of young children and their carers are also waiting for the train so I take the next one
As one of the carers is boarding he spots a man on the platform he recognises, gives a wave, blows a kiss, and boards the train with a look of sadness
Mad Brighton meet-up!
September 19th, Preston Park
A relaxed meetup for mad people to connect, create and be themselves
