Today was a good day. My friend and I went up to Manchester, Vermont to one of our favorite places for lunch. It is sort of an Irish pub and has good food. Our favorite bartender was not working which was sad. The food was good as always. I had a wrap called "high on the hog". It was a red pepper wrap with ham, goat cheese, publano peppers, vacon and fig jam. It was served with fries. I brought half of it home and Bruno had it for his lunch. My friend and I split dessert which was lemon cream cake. Sooo good! Then we went to Mother Myrick's Confectionary, a wonderful bakery and candy store. I bought cherry and raspberry pie and a couple of their almond heart cookies thathave raspberry jam in the middle. Then we went to the Village chocolate shop in Bennington VT. I bought a pound of milk chocolate covered jellies: half was orange and half raspberry. I also bought a half pound of chocolate covered cherries which of course have liquid centers. Chocolate covered cherries cannot, and I repeat cannot, have cream centers! So it was a food filled day. Bruno and I went to see a bluegrass band called Red Skies tonight at one of our favorite venues. We met friends there and it was a good evening. Tomorrow will be a day of quiet as I had enough peopling today! Smile.

@Lynn @NightDrake @LeonianUniverse There are so many things wrong with the SSI system. Disincentives to work and save abound. As I posted previously, reasons to stay on SSI are linked to medical coverage and that is essential for people with disabilities. So people are stuck in the cycle and cannot get ahead. Even owning certain property can be counted against benefits. Sigh.

Hi all! In the Orlando airport waiting for my next flight to get to New Orleans. Flights went well so far. Crispy was a really good boy. One problem with an early flight is I had to get up super early to get to the airport, I got up at 1:00 AM. Ugh! But I tried to get early flight flights so that the airlines don’t get a chance to back up hope everybody has a great Easter if you celebrate.
Hi MastoFriends. We got back a bit ago from an amazing bluegrass show. John Reishman is such an amazing mandolin player. He and his band, the Jaybirds, were at the recording studio down the street from my house recording and album. They have been there for 2 weeks and ended their time with a fabulous show. @robini71 No, that’s a great description! Sounds kind of weird. I usually use the Armen hammer clean scent laundry sheets. I really like those. The sent to me is not really overwhelming. I do not like pods at all. I find that there’s residue on my clothes. It doesn’t seem to rinse well and sometimes you find some sticky junk. Yuck. So gave up using those a long time ago.

@robini71 I used them in cold and they dissolve. And also they’re perforated so if you’re doing a small load, you can tear the sheet in half and use that instead of the whole sheet I find them great I think you might be able to get them and unscented as well. But I use the clean scent and it’s not too bad. But I’m not super sensitive to scent.

@LeonianUniverse@caneandable.social I read kindle books on a kindle fire tablet. I have nothing else installed on it other than the Kindle ap so I'm not distracted. The thing about the regular Kindles is you don't have a speaker so you always will have to use headphones. That's why I use the fire because I can also listen just on the device. Of course you could use a kindle with a bluetooth speaker as well.

@LeonianUniverse @NightDrake Well, the people you are referring to may be wealthy. But there are circumstances where marriage may have an effect on things such as insurance. People who are on Medicaid and need that coverage could lose it if they marry. Here in Massachusetts, there is a program where if you are disabled but working, you can buy into Medicaid if you need the coverage. If you marry, your spouse's income is then counted thus losing essential service. So there are lots of reasons why people may be committed to each other but not marry.
