@VeryBadLlama@mas.to it’s nice that they self-label themselves as incels. Makes it so much easier.

mastodon 4.8.0-nightly.2026-10-06Immune compromised Scala/Java/Golang/Rust/Haskell self employed developer, stuck at home because of how mild COVID is. Getting rather pissed off about it. Father of autistic boy. Anti-fascist. See a nazi, punch a nazi. 🌈 I hold the opinion that convicted billionaire fraudsters should go to big-boy prisons and not minimum security country clubs (ok Emma?)

It is 2050, the world has moved on, has siloed the US and learned to live without it. The US techno oligarchs have created an LLM trained on Trumps rallies and it spends its days announcing tariffs on countries that no longer trade with the US.
Going to hit the transfer button on mastodon social today to migrate my followers over to my own instance. I suspect I’ll lose a lot of you in the process - so I don’t know, maybe re-follow me if you want, or don’t, I don’t mind - I’m not an influencer and I have no ego to bruise (as Spock says).
Found a mostly-decent Canadian provider at last. Cheap VPS prices, semi-decent workable management console. Quick launch times. Only problem I see so far is lack of ability to attach more storage. Looks like only way to get more storage is to pay for a larger instance size. OneProvider if anyone is interested. I spawned an instance on their Vancouver datacentre. Still waiting on OVH 🙄 to process my order - lightning fast VPS service /s
If you suddenly get followed by an account that resembles mine - it’s cool. It’s me. It’s my new instance. Trying to migrate over to it - I jumped the gun and imported my follows early. It’s on fedi.aiga.rocks domain just fyi.
@MaZderMind@chaos.social I’m itching to play around with running OpenStack over multiple bare metal servers. The ability to run your own cloud on your own servers with full control is very appealing. It provides all the usual cloud services a lot of us have been spoiled with over the last 15 years - object storage, attachable block storage, instant spin up of compute, lambda style compute, container based compute, managed databases, virtual networks, virtual load balancers, CLI etc.
What I need is pineapples-as-a-service. Fresh pineapples delivered to your door on a weekly subscription basis, with per-second billing and multiple availability zones

@BNONews@mastodon.social they are so poorly put together I’m not really surprised. The factory conditions that I’ve read about don’t scream “quality control”.

@saddestrobots@jorts.horse woah. Version 0.0.67?? That’s bleeding edge - everyone is still on 0.0.32 ffs. Next you’ll want us to use a 0.1.x release. We are YEARS away from this people.
@maleve@zeroes.ca good to know - i have a godaddy domain i'll be wanting to move at some point.
@MaZderMind@chaos.social the price for that is very low compared to here - I was seeing C$250+ a month for 6 core 128GB servers with 4T SATA.
@MaZderMind@chaos.social my argument is that I’m trying to find Canadian owned and operated stuff - and it’s really hit or miss. It does seem like using European is the only viable option until Canada can get its shit together.

@JamesBoag@mastodon.scot ok you joke but I can imagine having this argument with my mum anytime now.
My new account is @andymoose@fedi.aiga.rocks if any of you do end up not being migrated across.
