I had been on #i3wm over Ubuntu for maybe five years, maybe more. Last month I bought a new laptop and decided it was time to move to Wayland because, well, it's the future and, like when Python 3 replaced Python 2, there's no point in staying where I feel comfortable.
The initial plan was installing #Sway over #Tuxedo OS, but I found that I could not use it as I was using i3, so I have been trying the default #KDE #Plasma over the past weeks. It looks like it will become my home 🙂

I'm sorry for the YouTube link, I just didn't want to repeat an argument somebody else expressed a lot better than I ever could. Basically, the author argues that the anger towards free software developers for trying to implement law-conforming changes in their projects is misdirected -- it should be towards those passing those laws.
Having been in a somewhat similar, although not as important, situation more than 10 years ago, I understand this point of view.

It may also be that the USB device has to be mounted and then unmounted -- udisksctl is a good tool to do that. If the USB drive is encrypted, it will need to be opened using cryptsetup and closed after everything has been copied.

That's it: it just works and I can configure it to work in a similar fashion as I was doing in i3 -- multiple desktops, mostly keyboard driven workflow.

Of course, the developers could *choose* to not implement that change and make software that could not be used legally, in the same way that users can *choose* to not fill that field and risk being brought to justice. But for the user to be able to make the choice, the developer must implement it 🙂

code blocks,
blockquotes
and
- unordered and
- ordered lists
Wouldn't want images (we already have those), headers or links (I think mastodon link support is enough). I am undecided about (LaTeX) math formatting support.
