This toot is dedicated to every dish that has come out of the dishwasher as unclean as it went in, and every reusable object i've tossed because the work to clean exceeded my executive function.

Has anyone heard of Framework computers? Are they worth it, easy to use? Do they have a presence on Mastodon?

@mattblaze@federate.social @jan@fedi.kcore.org and then you discover the microwave antenna was fed by the same fiber in the same bundle on the other end🤣
This is why i keep a 6 foot length of fiber in my backpack when hiking. If i get lost, i bury the thing shallow and wait for the North American Fiber Eating Backhoe to come get a snack, then follow the big yellow fiber fscker back to civilization.

@MLE_online@social.afront.org @nolan@microsh.art yeah, that's popular with the dropshippers, wishdotcom and TEMU etc., turns out it's cheaper for the companies to get folks to subsidize delivery costs with wear and tear on their vehicles while they think the gig economy hustle is getting them ahead, than it is to setup the company's own delivery fleet, or pay for legit shipping a ton of tiny packages through USPS etc.,

*Use of unclean was intentional, two dishes can be equally "not clean enough to use" and still be different levels of dirty.

Case in point, my dumbass can't work out how to make an array in ES|QL so that I can say (source.address IN array OR destination.address IN array) without having to type out the array twice.

@cR0w@infosec.exchange maybe more importantly, why would you unblock them unless it starts breaking something you need?

@cR0w@infosec.exchange does the SIEM charting stop because mitigations were effective? Or because i wrote a bad rule and it was bad?

@tk @pft@infosec.exchange JSONC is fine too. I find YAML more readable, but i think that's because most people (and code generating YAML) don't go out of their way to use the arcane features or sloppy syntax.

Double cylinder lock installed, replacing the landlord's thumb latch, but keyed the same, and we can restore to original at any time. Spare key stashed in the adjoining closet for emergency egress.

@nyanbinary@infosec.exchange counterpoint, the only reason I can do this much is because the former coworker who moved to our MDR provider didn't tell me "not my job anymore" when I asked him for help solving an observability problem using the SIEM data after his departure. The stuff he helped me with gave me some good patterns to build off of for my own work. If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.

@nyanbinary@infosec.exchange I don't really mind, or fault them, because it's letting me practice the skill and learn more. But at the same time, I didn't really have time today to hunt down who is using the hot new LLM tool that leadership is worried about, instead of the officially authorized platforms, I had my own job to do.

@Lee_Holmes@infosec.exchange neat, I'll try to remember to test that next time. Personally, the tension loss hasn't been a huge issue, the secret being to pinch the running end as it passes through the truckers hitch, then tie a halfhitch on a bight and snug it up before releasing the pinch.
