So there's a thought in this that if you could see how others felt about a thing and knew that everyone else had the same information, it would lower the temperature just by being there ambiently.
That said, there's guaranteed to be a contingent who get increasingly more upset when they're faced with metadata on their posts that say most people disagree with them, especially in those early stages when it's a whiplash from the unearned certainty that of course they're right.
A whole layer of conspiracy to explain the polling as fake, dead internet theory, must be "AI" made up polls etc etc, and I guess that's the irony laden end-game for the algo driven social media we'll need to eat.
Gonna have to sit with this one to read it fully. We have this very narrowcasted beam of disinfo here in Canada that circles around rewriting colonialist history so you don't have to feel bad about it. Seen a lot parroted by family who'd been softened up by several years of american brainrot and it's been wild to watch happen. Their slogans and catch phrases are so childish and petty that it'd be funny if it weren't for, yaknow, dead kids

- we learn that someone with access to elections data leaked/sold it to centurion project
- people are made aware that their data may be used to inflate petitions without their consent
- suddently the petition has enough signatures for a referandum
