I wish people understood that "exploit found in open-source project" is how open-source projects get MORE, not LESS secure. You do not "make software without vulnerabilities." You fix them when they are found, just like other bugs. "Vulnerability found" does not mean "stop using permanently" Critically, closed-source programs don't even need to be exploited for your information to be at risk. I'd rather my data be in plaintext on Mastodon than quantum-safe encrypted in Facebook's database.

I love stuff like tortie patterns. To express her exact coat in terms of black/white/orange across her whole body is probably beyond any current human science, millions of exact data points. Yet there it is, reproduced the same way every time a hair is shed. All for a random mutation not meaningfully related to survival or anything at all. I am baffled by people unable to find wonder in the world without some "god" or whatever. Just...look around you.

#Anime fans are the last ones who have it good as far as streaming services go. I don't want to give them too much credit, but you want to watch anime, you get crunchyroll.

You want to watch anything else...break out a map, a codex, a decoder ring, a printed copy of Wikipedia, and a TV guide from 1996, and if you're lucky you can find a $20/ a month service that has exactly that show and nothing else you like.

Voice commands, white balance, and dimming are cool features to have but I'm not buying "smart lights" again. They have burned out or otherwise had issues way too often, almost incandescent bulb levels of needing replacement. They seem to accidentally DoS attack your router if they call come on at once (power outage) too. Smart switches might be okay but my house isn't wired for em. You don't want to depend on Google/Amazon/apple anyway.
