grub on Guix now asks password only once for LUKS encrypted disk! It took quite some time, but I'm happy we are finally here! :D

Kudos to Danny Milosavljevic for fixing it!
Imagine somebody also getting a grant to work fulltime on nREPL, tree-sitter grammar, Emacs extension and all other cool dev tooling and IDE-like features for Guile Hoot!
Oh, wait, somebody actually got it today! :D

Huge kudos to @nlnet@social.nlnet.nl and @NGIZero@mastodon.xyz
Magit is what has kept me sane using git all these years.
Interactive rebases, squashes, fix ups, hunk selection were comfy and fluent; experience is polished.
Also, Magit created a whole new cluster of UI interfaces. Transient is a thing!
Can't underestimate how much important @tarsius@fosstodon.org work is.
Thank you man!
We published a new SRFI 269: Portable Test Definitions.
https://srfi.schemers.org/srfi-269/
We already got a very positive feedback from seasoned Scheme hackers, but we also looking forward to yours. We have a few more weeks to incorporate the changes.
P.S. 21 years have passed since SRFI-64.
P.P.S. There are links to demo video of the library usage at the end of the SRFI.
BTW, this huge work is possible thanks to @nlnet@social.nlnet.nl and funding they provide!
Guix fixed most of the vectors of supply chain attack, before supply chain attacks became a mainstream :)
I can tell you a story how one country went from "protecting children"
to banning any internet resource on a government wish
and me not being able to chat with my mom without some crazy ygg+vless+shadowsocks setup
in just a dozen of years. (and it still getting worse).
I don't recommend the experience. There are other much more fun things to do in the life.
One week with Jujutsu full-time: I've never been happier with VCS. I guess we don't come back to the git.
The only "project-wide C-z" feature is already huge, but there is so much more.
Finally VCS doesn't get in the way and feels so reliable and smooth.
Don't quit after the first attempt, try two more times so your failure is statistically significant.
Pushed my first commit created with Jujutsu. This is a patch-based D VCS similar to darcs and pijul, which can work on top of git.
Imaging your are in interactive rebase all the time [and it's a good thing]. All the changes are always committed, no stash, no index. Everything is a changeset.
Jujutsu makes so much sense. It cuts a huge amount of friction from my coding workflow.
One of the best tools I found in 2026. Moreover, One of the best I found through my life :)
For a FOSS developer I may have too much windows on my laptop.
There is a Scheme testing framework by Arthur A. Gleckler, which was developed before SRFI-64, but published only in 2020s.

1. It's very close to suitbl testing library and SRFI-269 in spirit.
2. It has a very neat property of saving resumable continuations on failure, so you can explore the problem in recursive REPL having all the local scope available.
We have next RDE meetup in one week (February 26, 12:00 CEST) and you are very welcome to join! Among possible topics:
- Guile development outside of Emacs (Vim, VScodium?).
- FOSDEM, Guix Days recap.
- New RDE Internship.
- and more in the full announcement 👇

We were working on SRFI for portable test definitions API for quite some time, and it finally ready.
Today I made a video quickly explaining the specification and showing an implementation and all cool consequences of the API design.

It's sad to see how runet from one of the biggest and brightest segments of the Internet became the most restricted one in just a dozen of years.
The worse situation is only in Northern Korea :/
If after recent system update you are out of sound. You may need sof-firmware package.
