@bocops@fosstodon.org Does your email host support sieve scripting? If so, you can already do this with ManageSieve. If not, you would need to do it the way you’re describing - have a mail client connected 24/7 filtering for you. I would personally grab a raspberry pi, install a desktop environment and then grab Thunderbird. Run thunderbird 24/7 and have it do the filtering for you (yes, thunderbird can filter emails)

@bocops@fosstodon.org Yeah, it’s basically the server running filters you create on your email. Proton Mail supports it. Self-hosted email software like Stalwart also supports it. I don’t believe any of the major email providers (such as gmail) support it though. But, the idea of running thunderbird on low powered raspberry pi isn’t the worst idea either.

@roytanck@mastodon.online I gave up on their cloud servers when they limited the bandwidth on us instances to 1TB. I know that’s the US market but it told me the offers weren’t stable. Instead I just use their dedicated servers.

This isn't me being an *** I legit don't see anything. I think though you're explaining the war currently going on, that I'm blocking entirely from everything on mastodon.
