mastodon 4.7.3IT guy with a whole host of often changing interests, currently including #photography, #climatescience, #dutchoven, playing #dwarffortress and listening to #modularambient music.
Not migrating from Twitter - but was on #googleplus a long time ago.
I'm looking for a way to filter incoming mail without having to set up my own mail server - the idea is to have something like a headless mail client running on a Raspberry Pi, accessing my inboxes via IMAP and doing the filtering before they are accessed by my actual clients running on various devices.
I see this sort of question being asked for more than a decade, but no proper solutions seem to exist. Or do they?
This is the best video I've ever seen about the 1066 Battle of Hastings! Granted, it's also the only video I've ever seen about the Battle of Hastings, but still... :)
Turns out, they also have more than 2.5 hours worth of Lord of the Rings lore in what seems to be the same presentation style, which I have to check out next.

I have several app ideas where some sort of Mastodon integration sounds fun, like publishing a photo or seeing public posts using a certain hashtag. Instead of reimplementing the same, necessary but boring, steps of signing in a user and storing their secrets over and over, I decided that a small Android library might be sensible.
Perhaps this library is useful for other developers as well. You can check it out at https://codeberg.org/bocops/beringia
"PUBLISHER or INTERMEDIARY or BOTH. If you own the app you're monetizing and/or you're paid directly by Google, then you're classified as PUBLISHER. If not, you're classified as INTERMEDIARY. If you belong in both categories, you're classified as BOTH."
The first part of that paragraph describes a binary choice, so how could BOTH ever be correct here? 🤡

Does publishing snapshots to Maven Central fail for anyone else, or is this just me?
@nuintari@mastodon.bsd.cafe Yeah, I need to look into what my provider has to offer. Thanks for the pointers.
Regarding the sorting problem, sadly, the "forwarding to multiple mailboxes" solution is what we previously had, and which is no longer possible. This is the only case where I'm not administering myself, so I'm left with whatever works - which might just be a shoehorned Thunderbird-on-a-Stick solution. :)
I activated #Wero functionality in my banking app yesterday. It initially seemed to work, at least I could create and display a payment QR code.
On each subsequent access of the functionality, though, the app would stay black and do nothing, eventually bringing up an ANR prompt to wait or kill the app.
Apparently, this is a known issue that the developer is planning to fix eventually. Looks like Wero isn't the highest of their priorities.
