mastodon 4.7.3Dad, developer, musician. Just a guy being a dude.
Antifascist and sometimes crude.
I feel like people who are using LLMs for their work are not considering the motives and impact of the corporations hosting and serving the model. The goal isn't to make you a better developer, or even a more productive developer, its to make you dependent on their service and start driving up the rents to access it.
The goal is to extract your time, your money, and your knowledge feeding these models your plans for the work you want to achieve. They are not benevolent.
I am begging for the Ontario NDP to have an actual platform next election and not just react entirely to Doug Ford. Reacting to his party’s corruption and incompetence allows the Tories to control the political narrative for the election cycle. Have some solid policies around education, healthcare, and housing, and introduce some sort of jobs program, and just stick to that narrative. Don’t sway. Only react and call out Ford’s nonsense during a debate.
“Epic Fury” is such a dumb loser name for a war crime.

This is incredible. I always thought the introduction of digital devices into the classroom was a business decision, and not one that would benefit the student's ability to learn and understand.
Its such a small move but if you're a big guy just tuck in your undershirt. Also, wear an undershirt.
Digital ads look like shit in the hard-cam shadows at Oracle Park. Do Giants fans routinely deal with this?
I am going live right now making some music!
Alright, so I'm onto my next week (day 4, I think) of using the iPad for notes at work, and here are some grievances:
* Having to charge a pencil
* Writing response time lagging
* Hot iPad
* Having to unlock the device to write
My hot take on white-face is: it’s racist, but it’s harmless and a very subversive form of satire.
I do not think people can do in a few decades what evolution has done in millions in years. I love humans and humanity but I’m not daft. AGI is nonsense and should not be taken seriously.

Reminding the timeline that I’ll be producing music on camera tonight if you’re interested in watching!
Going to stream again tomorrow night for the first time in ages. Will be working on finishing some tracks and working on some ambient D&B.
Drizzle uses sequential numbers for their Database migrations which shows me that their team has not had experience with Database MIgration libraries in the past.
Its such a pain to re-organization migrations when in my branch we are on 35, and my colleague's branch is on 35, and so we don't know whose goes first. A UNIX timestamp or extends date string literally fixes this problem.
Giving Ghostty a test drive today. Is today the day I replace GNOME Terminal for good!?
Saw an AI bro say that LLM tools would have less bias because they are trained on the entirety of the internet.
Dude, have you ever been on the internet?
There is a serious lack of charisma in tech conference presentations.
iPad note taking experiment is over. While I will miss how I felt a little more organized, I will not miss having to charge my pencil or seeing a visible lag on the page when I write.
Sorry trees.
Some times I just want to write some weakly typed well tested javascript for node.
I'm on day 3 of taking notes on my ipad. I honestly like it a lot more than I expected.
I am onto my second week of learning/using Orgmode. I'm not an emacs guy so maybe there is something I'm missing using the nvim orgmode plugin but so far, so good. Its pretty flexible and I am _feeling_ more organized. Though I'm not sure if I actually am.
Years and years of doing local standup comedy, calling for Otto be recognized as an art, and just generally being around that scene. I think the standup crowd would have mountains to learn from drag queens and burlesque dancers.
Nice, the day after my org bought Claude licenses, their source code for Claude Code got leaked.
Austerity and privatization has such a poor track record I’m baffled people think either are good ideas for society.
