Religion, well most people are born into that scam and never bother to think critically about it while a chosen Distribution is usually found after years of trial and error and when one is forced to switch away from it because the values of the Distribution don't allign with once own values anymore that can feel like a crisis of faith* for some.
I frankly don't care what UNIX/Linux Distro/...BSD I got to work with.
Comes from a life time of working in mostly heavily restricted Computing Environments where you have to work with what is given.
So no fancy custom Dot files and pimped out DE/WM.
Bourne Shell and a basic vi are doing the job.
*Not religious so that's just a guess.
Oh Steam has a "Cyberpunk Fest" and most of what is on offer is not Cyberpunk.
