I'm a visual/audio artist. Former healthcarer, UK born Kiwi.
Likes: Evidence, music tech, dogs, kindness. Dislikes: Billionaires projecting their own psychopathy onto others. Nature IS variation. If a belief system rejects that, it is maladaptive.

I *actualise* caring so only eat products which never had a pulse.

My face pic is overlaid with textured artwork as a security measure in response to current world politics and awareness that face pics fuel fixation in dark personality disorders.

So ACT is pushing to mimic UK erosion of quality and safety of NZ healthcare, by squeezing Kiwi pharmacists to do parts of GP jobs.

It may sound palatable to the naive, but pharnacist training is not GP training and in reality pressure incrementally increases to do inappropriate tasks, escalating patient risks.

Why might ACT be pushing for it? Well, ACT peddles anti-immigration sentiment and this deters overseas well-trained GPs from coming to save services in NZ. Getting GPs to NZ is a massive struggle at present.

So here come dubious alternatives ... which also happen to be pathways to ringfencing pharmacy and GP services so they are run mainly/only by big corporates, endlessly escalating obscene profits. Pharmacists who resist performing tasks beyond their training, for legitimate reasons, end up being sidelined from the profession and their contracts and services go to the corporates, profits often leaking to overseas. Smaller practices close, some merging under one corporate roof, meaning many patients have to travel further for services.

Just like with Farage's suggestions in the UK, it is likely that grotesque US corporate profiteers are secretly behind it. Be suspicious of the spin. It is a game of demolition.

The 'traditional wife' lifestyle is pitched to US women as a return to comforting nostalgia ... but really it is a misogynistic religion-fueled trap.

Psychological researchers were startled to find the common factor in men fixating on the 'lifestyle' is not retro chivalry but instead “hostile sexism”. The men held overtly warped negative beliefs about women and likely become punitive and controlling because they know they are highly dependent on women for intimacy ...

This matters. Beyond identifying that it is a trap for women, it highlights a link between women suffering and religio-cultural weaponisation, stigmatisation, and limitation of ways in which males can sexually experience and express.

Living in a society which does not weaponise sexual orientation/experience would reduce the resented 'dependence' on women.

More fool the woman who spins or spreads homophobia. She is laying the foundations of her own trap, whilst presuming it is a separate issue.

If you make visual art, make it feature things AI cannot do. I firmly believe this is the next great art leap because all else will be so AI imitated and devalued.

  • Add textures and materials AI users cannot print, and which are not done justice in photos.

  • Feature specific localised or personal knowledge AI will not have known about (without putting your personal privacy at risk.

  • If showing works anywhere online or in gallery catalogues, give the works incorrect object or person titles to confuse and corrupt AI, and make a joke of it so those viewing it understand what you are doing, or reference them numerically. Gallery owners really need to implement such tactics too.

  • show only parts of the works online, not the whole thing. Do not assume a photo taken at an angle cannot be altered to true perspective, then scraped by AI.

And please, feel free to share any other ideas, not just for visual arts but music too. We need to find as many workarounds to protect human originated arts as possible.

@chopsstephens Exactly. ACT pushing this as a 'solution' is a classic case of far right steering towards a downgrade in essential infrastructure which will probably cost Kiwi lives in the end ... but not of greed-obsessed overseas meddlers likely to be behind it all, financially and probably geographically far removed from the damage they cause.

An interesting, much less exploitative approach than the narcissistic economy-greed models which have pushed down populations in western cultures in recent decades:

The UK's Green Party leader, Zack Polanski, thinks UK should move away from GDP to measuring overall well-being...

(Reposted because it is such a great point).

As Ghana gets even more punitive with one tenth of its population just because the REALITY of natural diversity doesn't fit its bigoted religiosity ... which nations and governments will put a freeze on the country until it gets ethical and reality-based?

@jeremy_pm@mastodon.nz Thank you so much for recommending this. I didn't know of his feed. The video really summed things up about politics and media in NZ. I have instantly subscribed.

@debe I agree, with all you wrote. Good at least to keep highlighting the discrepancies and likely trajectory of NZ ACT's 'solutions' etc. Even if one less person pauses to realise the risks, it is worth it. All the better if more wise up.

@nileane @verge I wouldn't use that exact phrasing. It can be read as endorsing her funding for her hate. Too ambiguous. "...to fund her disproportionate paranoid hate towards a minority..." would be more effective.

Cruelty gets away with sociopathic acts because authority often masks harm as 'duty' or 'tradition' (habit).

Cruelty often harms incrementally on way to embedding its attacks as norms.

Cruelty begins with a tiny gesture such as an eye-roll or two, then gets bolder, scapegoating on the way to overt physical, emotional or mental attacks.

Cruelty is linked to packaging. Labels are processed faster so bypass valuable critical analysis.

Examples:

The devout religious - are pressured not to question what 'is written', enabling sociopathy to go to such an extreme that text passages on caring for others are contorted into dehumanisation. The minorities, the homeless, the other class ... by way of duty are subjected to deepening cruelties.

Political party members - are groomed in how to appear questioning in public performance, yet not question their leader to any juncture at which their narrative obviously fails.

People often say fish only recall a few seconds (scientifically disproven), yet themselves fall over and over for repackaged PRd frauds/criminals etc.

Many who see themselves as animal lovers are scared to connect with the harm, violence or murder experienced by packaged body parts they buy and consume. They defer to industry propelled traditions of buying and eating, rather than ensuring kindness. They use selective amnesia, and even target and scapegoat those who follow through on kindness.

Around 4 per cent of the US population is estimated to be sociopathic - predisposed to doing harm without any conscience.
The numbers are higher for narcissism, and of course there is psychopathy to factor in, too. Definitely zero conscience there, plus planning of harm, rather than only impulsive.

I wonder how the percentages for 'big role' entertainment characters compare.

For example, acting is a profession predisposed to narcissism and performers often revel in the attention and permission playing psychopathic/sociopathic characters gives. When they do, they amplify toxic traits with added music to manipulate audience hormonal release, and by repetition, ultimately shape perceived realities. The same goes for even animated characters ... so the percentages would say a lot about how narcissistically driven, sometimes mafia-linked entertainment industries are trying to shape us individually and collectively at a more covert level than routine propaganda.

Need something wonderfully euphoric? Give 'Everybody Dance' by Gravitonas and Roma Kenga a listen. Both very well mixed and mastered dance music acts. Fans of ABBA may also really enjoy Roma Kenga's ultra high energy cover version of 'Summer Night City'. Both artist's back catalogues can bring much cheer.
