New website idea: "why are people outside shouting dot com", you put your postcode in and it tells you which local or nationally televised events are going on right now

@Yuriel@kind.social eh, it’s only a billion dollars

@xan@xantronix.social I'll be with you there 💯

Sunday I sat down in the bar after having been to a couple of panels, meeting some new friends in the morning and continuously bumping into them throughout the day, as well as recognising and chatting with @Ninji@wuffs.org and @saki.pet, and realising… “This is home”. “I belong here”. Like, I'm crying right now. I even wore my tail all the way home, on the Tube and everything. I'm gonna process the photos tomorrow. My emotions, those are gonna take a while longer. 💖 Thank you all 💖

@kuriko@wetdry.world omgggg

@Unixbigot@aus.social @typeswitch@gamedev.lgbt @hacks4pancakes@infosec.exchange I dunno, I certainly felt culture shock when I went to live in Japan for 3 years. I got used to it pretty quickly, but things still stuck out to me as "why don't they do things like they do back home" (yes I was young and naive). But when I moved back to the UK after 3 years of Japan, yes, I did experience reverse culture shock. It didn't last long, but when you get used to things, changes and differences really stand out.

@Unixbigot@aus.social @typeswitch@gamedev.lgbt @hacks4pancakes@infosec.exchange Ah, I think I see what you mean, it presupposes that there is always a "correct" culture from which to base all your thoughts? Yeah, travel should really be mandatory for young people, it opens up your mind to other ways of thinking so much.

@alice@lgbtqia.space @Wohnmichel@mastodon.social How early are we talking about? One that I remember spending a long time on was Ishkur's Guide to Electronic Music... I could spend hours there...
