One of my personal favorites - a trillium! These babies take two years of freeze-thaw cycles to sprout, and can take 7-10 years to flower for the first time! All that to say - don’t pick these when you see them!

I don’t even grow zucchini anymore, I just tell all my coworkers and friends that I like them and inevitably still end up with more than I can use.
I just discovered that herb scissors exist and they are literally life changing. Just chopped up a bunch of chives in like two minutes.

I have seen my robin friends around for a few weeks, but was devastated that they didn’t seem to be nest building on our property. Since we moved in, we have had a nest in our deck eaves every year from some generation of this family. Today I went out to take out the compost and found this!!! Can’t wait for baby robins!!

Rescheduled my friend date day with my college bestie, after escaping work early we headed out to lunch and then plant shopping! I got more seed starting mix for my tomatoes, a bay laurel tree sapling (and no, I don’t think they overwinter here so ask me in a few years how THAT’S going), some onion starts, sage seeds, and a new heirloom tomato seed. Not pictured: a hose splitter.

When I was a child I got caught in one of these in the Atlantic Ocean. I had a boogie board and couldn’t figure out why I kept drifting further and further out. I kept swimming and was getting nowhere, getting scared and frustrated. Thankfully a friend’s dad realized what was going on and swam out to me and got us back. He explained rip currents to my parents and me. Forever grateful!
