@sodiboo@gaysex.cloud but yea .ogg is a generic container format and it can contain all sorts of things - vorbis, opus, theora... sometimes people use .opus and .ogv extensions to differentiate but it is all ogg. only ogg.

@sodiboo@gaysex.cloud I remember that converting an mp3 with cover art to an ogg vorbis in ffmpeg would turn the cover art into a theora stream, or something along those lines. bit annoying, need to use -vn to get rid of that

What they will end up doing with the account I don't know (probably scams!) but I assume it is similar to these emails I somehow still get on my old Hotmail address I used for an old Github account I no longer use

For the past weeks I've noticed a very strange perculiarity on GitHub with users who create large amounts of repositories all following the same pattern with a generic name, template README, .github/activity.json file and some commits with generic names that just update a timestamp in the repository.
Some of them seem to be new accounts created specifically for this, while some have years of real contributions prior. Sometimes it happens for a couple days or a couple weeks.

What is this, Openclaw agents going rogue or some kind of bot farm (boosting followers, repo stars...) trying to create activity to make their new or compromised accounts seem legit?

@theresnotime@fox.nexus homebrew aggressively drops support for and deletes binary packages for unsupported macOS versions and will laugh in your face about it, making you have to build everything from source. macports is a better alternative if you're not on the treadmill of consumption, much wider compatibility and I'm not sure why homebrew is so aggressive about it when macports can keep chugging along and build for every OS version in recent memory (given that the software itself is compatible)

Thankfully these toasts that appear while F-Droid is in the background are going away for the 2.0 rewrite. I'm technical so I don't really care about it throwing up some mirror resolve error but it still feels really jank that it just keeps showing them on a regular basis, it's not useful information.

@sodiboo DNS servers can be hit by DDoS attacks like any other server... may just be less of an issue because of how there's a lot of redundancy in the system, multiple nameservers and caching at basically every layer up to the end user's browser
