mastodon 4.7.3☧ Christian, born in the mid-90s. Hopeful for the future, nostalgic about the past. I'm just here to share the love of video games and facilitate discussions about them, as well as reminiscing on retro culture, and occasionally being obnoxious about my love for PC gaming and all that entails.

I don't think I'll ever truly understand why GTA is so beloved. Yes, during the PS2 era, they set the stage for most open world games today. However, after the PS2, the series was basically just retreading the same ground with better graphics. I actually have ZERO interest in GTA6 whatsoever.
Personally, I find the Mafia and Watch Dogs games infinitely better than GTA in EVERY way.
Better stories, better characters, twists on the gameplay loop, etc.
Certified early 90s classic. Devin Townsend is best known for Strapping Young Lad and his solo work, but this album was the start of his career and is still a joy to listen to!
I also got this same version and same deal, but mine came with Metroid Prime and a Prime 2 demo disc instead of Mario Kart. Still probably my favorite console overall, and not just because it's nostalgic for me.
I have this one, this is the supreme Xbox!
The only problem is that the controller has massive and unplayable stick drift (plus the rubber coating is gone)... might have to look into repair guides for that.
I'm curious what the Fediverse would recommend as a resource for learning MS-DOS in 2026.
I have limited exposure to it having grown up mostly on Windows 9x, but I use a Linux CLI and these days, I always opt for Powershell in the rare cases where I use Windows because it supports Unix-like commands. As such, I'm very limited on what I know about using DOS.
I see some tutorials on Youtube, I'm just curious what y'all think.

Every so often, I rewatch this. It's crazy to me that ten years have already passed since this documentary first released (in UK movie theaters)...
If you've played RuneScape, it's an incredible blast of nostalgia. If you haven't played RuneScape, it's an amazing look at a rich legacy.
Either way, you should watch it!

The lesson? Never make fun of a bald man because you may just end up being that bald man in 10-30 years. 👨🦲
I'm hoping my lack of jest toward guys with thinning hair will earn me a future of hair. I've made it to 30 and still have a full head with no signs of baldness :guilded_notsureif:

LEGENDARY.
), but I have to agree that the model 1 was the king. The model 2 is still attractive but nothing compared to the model 1's perfect design!RE: @JakobFel@retro-gaiden.com
I'm still running this giveaway without a single entry... anyone interested? :odysee_laughing:
