@kycm_ancy@fandom.ink I actually never said that I don't like Geocities myself though I did wind up seeing many people starting to raise a stink over a series of rug pulls that were going on in the 2000s, and since then, Geocities has mostly faded from relevance until more recently when they made news for being shut down. That said, I had mixed results with a few other hosts around that time as well. Still, the name "Geoshitties" wound up sticking within the public.

@rodneylives@mefi.social That sounds good but I had not heard of them until now, and all that come up when I did my search was Geocities. That might mean it may be a good idea to tell people about them, and preferably without being as toxic as this discussion has become. Doing that also gives your product, being Neocities vs Geocities a bad look.

@kaiiak ...well, I probably should clarify. Nothing I own runs the Gnome frontend. I doubt you can get away from a GTK backend without some serious sacrifices.
