Retired hardware engineer, current flâneur, trying to exercise my mind with a camera, usually a Fuji X-T5. Or my iPhone 16 potatocam. Or a Rolleiflex 2.8F twin-lens reflex on film. Ottawa, Canada, he/him, GenX. Part-time suburbanite, part-time rural landed gentry, occasional traveler.

Morning on the hardwood trail. There's no foliage to soften the bold trunk shadows. #Photography #BlackAndWhite
Urban abstraction.
Daffodils and magnolia tree.
Piano keys on the ground. Like in "Big" with Tom Hanks.
Kintsugi.
The fortress of Minas Pretorith, one of two ancient towers fortifying the Pretoria Bridge over the Rideau Canal.
The two identical crenellated towers, one on each side of the roadway, can support a garrison of one Commissionaire and one auxiliary cat.

Some ice, but no ice cream.
I do recall getting treats here, oh, maybe a half-century ago, but it hasn't thrived since then.

The sleepy suburb of Barrhaven is slowing bidding goodbye to the faux-english-pub phase of its sad culinary history, and embracing a more exciting mix of cafes, pastry places, and middle-east-adjacent breakfast places.
I had a very nice shakshuka this morning.
The downside is that my brain is throwing up some visual aura to remind me that I can not handle Turkish coffee. Oops.
All right, I'm in the process of moving my 1.1 TB of data off of AWS S3 buckets (us-east-1) and into the Scaleway S3 clone in Paris.
I've already moved my web server instance off of AWS and on to Scaleway VPS.
It should save real money and deprive the fascist-supporting shop-killing penis-rocket guy of some of income.
"Barrhaven" might be an indigenous word meaning "No particular reason to visit it, unless you happen to know someone who lives there, and you want to ask them if they've thought about a condo in Westboro".
In this photo, the wall-maker has cleverly incorporated the suburb's coat of arms: a rectangular field of featureless stucco, symbolizing the large featureless neighbourhood on a macro scale, and the smaller monoculture lawns on a micro scale.
