But the “robot defense” needs to be explicitly forbidden by law. Corporations can’t be allowed to perpetrate profitable crimes, and argue their innocence or stupidity (“the ai did it!”) a la DUI in decades past.

I'd be hard-pressed to design a self-renewing valve that can deliver a high level of performance for 50-90 years in discriminating between three phases of matter and, when called for, to only allow one phase of matter to pass at a time. They don't deserve that sort of slander, to be compared to these intemperate volcanoes of cholera-and-COVID-laden diarrhea-of-the-brain. 😉

Jokingly but with a tinge of frustration, the pilot was asking ATC if they had any tips for how to get their "ai" to stop trying to make them fly through the White Sands Missile Range. After all, it was the most efficient route. 😒
