Please share widely: After May 2027, I’ll no longer be a faculty member at Iowa State University. I’ll be looking for full-time work to start after that. (I could also start before the upcoming fall term, in August; or after fall term ends, and before the spring term starts in January.) Passing on a question from a friend: does anyone know of any apps/programs for youngsters to make fonts? The suggested analog was TinkerCAD, but for type design. I've suggested Rob Meeks's FontStruct, but maybe other folks have good suggestions?

I’m really looking forward to the chance to work with students to build out some larger projects using the basics we cover in the first handful of weeks.

They still sell replicas of the Plaque Découpée Universelle, by the way—getting the stainless version that circulated some years back is probably impossible, but you can get laser-cut fiberboard ones from Antoine Lefebvre Editions.
