Diego isn't up for adoption, but he does want to remind you to keep your pets safe this St. Patrick's Day! ☘️ Shamrock plants might represent luck, but did you know they're actually toxic to #dogs, #cats, and #horses? Ingestion of the plant may cause GI upset, life-threatening changes in calcium levels, or kidney damage. If you suspect your #pet has eaten something they shouldn't have, contact your vet or local ER. We're open in #Boston and #Waltham 24/7 for emergency care.
It's International Beaver Day! Did you know that the #beaver is a keystone species? This means their presence is vital in keeping an ecosystem together. "The bill also has an antidiscrimination piece to it, which would prevent home insurance companies from discriminating against #dogs based on breed.
"We believe, and really have seen, that making decisions based on an individual dog's behavior and temperament is a much more accurate indicator of how a #dog is going to behave," [MSPCA Advocacy Director Kara Holmquist] said."

Think twice before letting your #cat lick your head - especially if you use Rogaine! In honor of Poison Prevention Week, we want to remind you that even in small amounts, minoxidil, the active ingredient in Rogaine and other hair loss treatments, can be fatal to #cats. Secure the bottle after application, and wash your hands thoroughly before giving Fluffy a pat!
