@gedeonm@mastodon.social We have *dozens* of crows at my work site. It's fun to watch them grab mussel shells, fly high, and drop them on the pavement to crack them open. There's a separate group of (lazy!) crows that sit around, waiting for the drops and try to steal the mussels. :)

@gedeonm@mastodon.social When we were kids, we knew he was an "actor”. But the only movies we'd seen him in was "Frogs" and “Escape from Witch Mountain," both awful, terrible movies. It wasn’t until I saw him in “Dial M for Murder” that I realized he was actually a *great* actor. :)

Been thinking about this. Maybe I'm just trying to justify it.

Yes - it’s a ridiculous price for a phone.

But for me, it's NOT “just a phone." Hell, I use the phone features the least.

It's my second best camera and the one I *always* have with me.

It's what I use to communicate to 99% of my friends/family. It's what I use to get 90% of my news/information. It's my GPS, music player, game console, eReader, Health and Fitness tracker…

It's MUCH more than just a very expensive phone. 🤷🏼‍♂️

@gedeonm@mastodon.social Perhaps Apple sees/knows there are a lot of people like me who will buy these on various payment plans and/or through their cell provider who often offer subscription-type deals? 🤷🏼‍♂️ I know “financing" a phone is a little bit insane but it's the only way I could afford to get it. $50/month is not a bad rental plan - for me.

I hate Ryan Gosling… I just wanted to say that upfront. I think he's a boring actor with zero emotional range (BTW, I think the same of Keanu Reeves but I actually like Reeves' movies). I generally avoid Gosling's movies unless there's someone or something else compelling in it. In the case of Project Hail Mary, the premise (as shown in the trailers) was good enough for me to swallow my hatred of Gosling and watch the movie last night. https://doamm.com/2026/04/12/i-hate-ryan-gosling/
