What's a good app for finding bike routes specifically around Metro Vancouver? e.g. Apple Maps gave garbage directions from New West to PoCo. Google Maps did a decent job. However, Google maps gave terrible directions around Mount Pleasant area. (told me to go along 12th instead of 10th for some dumb reason) I only really use Google Maps when I have to, but it’s also time to switch away from Apple maps. The main need is bike-friendly mapping system. #bike #ebike #vancouver #bc

@lashman Thanks! I got an error when I searched for a game and selected it. It didn’t look like anything was happening, but maybe 30 seconds later it went to a 404 page. Do you need more repro steps?

@lashman a little info that it’s happening would definitely be nice. I’m curious about ‘Peak Retention’. A short single player game listed in red at 19%, but I’d argue it’s a meaningless metric for this game. Maybe I’m misunderstanding the meaning of this statistic. It says “Players are leaving fast”, I’m not sure if that means they are quitting after 1 hour because they don’t like it or after 2 days because they’ve finished it. I think this statistic could do with some more info or rewording.

E.g. this pipeline supposedly will cost $4B to install (https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/enbridge-sunrise-lng-pipeline-what-to-know-9.7176629) But to keep it operational, how much is our wildfire management bill going to increase? (this is an annual fee). There are many factors than just dollar values. But we need to compare true dollar costs to show them that the maths doesn’t even work out. #BC #Canada (2/2)

@jbrains in case you haven’t got any offers yet (and size of your group) I’d look at coworking spaces as they have bookable meeting rooms (e.g. collab space has 8 person room for $50/hour). I would also look at libraries and universities as they can sometimes provide slots for free or a lower fee, depending on what you’re doing.

@elfkin yeah, that timing seems way off to me. I don’t remember the exact timing, but I used fridge temp eggs at it was closer to 9 minutes. Don’t quote me on that, just another data point to calibrate from! Do you put the soy in the water? If so, how much. Might give it a go today.

@elfkin oh right, there is a shell. No way could soy be absorbed during the boiling process 🤦‍♂️ I definitely didn’t leave it on simmer, they were just resting in water. But maybe it wasn’t hard boiled. I’ve forgotten all my timings now as we now use a dedicated appliance for eggs. Good luck!

@tod@hci.social I’m doing it, but grumbling at a lack of ‘both’ or ‘depends on who I’m talking to’ answers. I appreciate the fun though! Sending it to friends who are also sad census nerds. Edit: Also you ask if we’re a resident but there are lots of questions only relevant to citizens. I’ve had to vote with intention, not accuracy.

@seanb@mstdn.ca I really want to start reaching out to businesses to help them transition away. BUT I can’t see small businesses having the finances to hire someone to switch just their GMail workspace to someone else. And a larger company which has more to switch, likely has the talent to do so. But I could be way off base, have you done of this type of work?
