A slightly avant-garde #FrontEndSheff last night, but one of our attendees said it best:

> "I feel excited about being a dev again now thank uuu"

@alifeee@mastodon.social & @neilzilla@mastodon.social put on a great - for want of a better term - show for us: highlighting the broad range of tools and skills we have as frontend developers to fix… well, loads of stuff. Thanks lads!

Anyone have some interesting adventures via the 'personal website roulette'?

Thu (26th Mar): Spaces available for '#Microhacking the modern web' w\ regular attendees @alifeee@mastodon.social & @neilzilla@mastodon.social

They're tackling #Sheffield events, post- #IoT hardware, buses & who knows what else? It's DIY & hobbyist-driven as we take a break as web developers & designers from the modern AI-obsessed corporate rollercoaster! #FrontEndSheff #Meetup

Also, we'll be giving an overview of what's coming up @ #FrontEndSheff in 2026.

In our first meetup of 2026 @kitation@disabled.social will leverage their record of focusing on real #a11y issues and examine how web compliance works.

👾 Using video games as a comparator, we'll explore alternative approaches to accessibility & how we can introduce fresh ideas into our work

🎟️ Free tickets - February 26th: https://www.meetup.com/front-end-sheffield/events/312926848/ #FrontEndSheff

RE: @heypresents@mastodon.world

There are some friends of #FrontEndSheff / @frontendnorth@front-end.social involved with this. They say this is the final one, but we hope not.

Are you going? We are! Tickets still available.

900 quid iPhone? £40 pm mobile bill? Still struggling load that photo your mum sent you of her new border collie, despite being in the city & near a phone mast?

Martin Owens from #SYMAC / #SYDIT may have some answers, thanks to his plucky team of bin lorries 🚛 & the Streetwave Mobile Coverage Map.

What does this mean for us as people building for the web? Is #webperf important in an age of 5G?

@kitation@disabled.social will use video games as a comparator to look at how we can introduce fresh ideas into our work, now that the compliance-lead approach sometimes feels as if it has run out of steam.
