#FediCoven Our granddaughter will ring the bell in the children's cancer ward this Wednesday. She is officially clear. It's huge. Three-year treatment plan ahead with weekly tests and no one is guaranteeing anything, but right now at this moment there's no cancer in our little girl. Huge gratitude to the Mórrígan who promised me she would rid our girl of the cancer, and to all of you my dear friends here for your love and prayers and support. Thank you. I love you. x

#WritersCoffeeClub #WritingCommunity 23rd Sept 2026. What "little thing" really helps you write? My captain's chair with two cushions, one under my bottom to pad the hard leather seat and one at the small of my back to aid good posture.

#Fedihelp Is anyone here in contact with #LadyGaga? My 14yo grandson who I love dearly is lying in hospital on life support. His mum, my daughter, is reading aloud for him the David Attenborough book he was planning to get. His favourite artist is Lady Gaga and my daughter is trying to contact her, to ask if she might send our boy a message to be read to him. It would mean a lot. I know this is a long shot, but can anyone put me in touch?

1st June 2026. Let your MC introduce themself.

I am Medb, pronounced May-v. I am like generations of my family before me the steward of this forest on the west coast of Ireland, and in my yard on the beach I continue my family trade of building wooden boats. I am a wife, twice over and twice widowed, mother to a fine woman, grandmother to two, and soon to be a great-grandmother. My way of life I inherit from my family, including my dedication to the Mórrígan.

3rd June 2026. In a minute or less using your media of choice (including words) make a sketch of something representative of you as a creative person.

Late evening, old man sitting at his desk in a glow-globe of candlelight, staring into depths, occasionally testing a phrase for its shape, typing hard in sustained bursts.

2nd June 2026. Share a line from something you've read today (with credit.)

"Peace to sky.
Sky to earth.
Earth below sky,
strength in each one,
a cup overfull,
filled with honey,
sufficiency of renown."

Opening lines of the Mórrígan's rosc that became known as the Peace Prophecy in the Cath Maige Tuired (the Second Battle of Moytirra), full English translation by Morgan Daimler, 2020.

#ScribesAndMakers #WritingCommunity

7th May 2026. When did you think of the idea for your current project? Do you remember how it came about?

Two months ago, on 1st March. It bloomed in my resting mind like a flower, the initial picture of it entire. Even its structure was there, along with the nature of its narrator, and its ambition excited me. Considering I officially retired from writing in December and didn't write a word through midwinter, I'm coming at this fresh and enthusiastic.

2nd June 2026. Let the funniest character describe the world they live in.

The C18th pirate Byrne, in my to-be-released Death & Thereafter:

"For me, falling in love with pretty llittle Bonny Harbour on the untamed north-eastern coast of the Americas was integral to my falling in love with my brave Cap'n Jake Blake, and then for his fast ship Honour, and finally for this our secret home town where it seems everyone is related to someone in his crew."

@RickiTarr@beige.party From over here, where all of my long life I've been ashamed of what my ancestors did during the fascist British Empire to hundreds of millions of people, I've always seen the USA as the same or worse. What we see happening in your country now is what I've always believed existed under the pretty PR cover. That has never stopped me from respecting certain Americans I've known who are genuine anti-fascists, and all my friends are among them.

Sunday morning: our girl's back in hospital with an alarmingly high temperature, sickness, and diarrhea. Of course she has no immunity whatsoever after her 4 months of chemo, and the initial assumption is that this is a post-operative infection after her surgery to remove the internal line on Wednesday.

@klepsydra@wandering.shop I was recruited into a band for a summer season because their guitarist broke his hand and the singer's dad knew my grandad in the pub. I was a kid straight out of school while they were older, pro musicians, and very cool. They didn't talk to me much. That winter I went to sea and sailed the world for twenty years, which accidentally made me a bit cool back at home while those band members ended up working on building sites and in garages. Circles and roundabouts and stuff.

#ScribesAndMakers #WritingCommunity 29th Jun 2026. Share the last line of dialogue you wrote. Aisling: “I’m nervous around Charlie. He’s dark and brooding, angrily suspicious of anything that might be like old human ownership of nature. Pa calls him a firecracker. But then he's friends with the mother whale, and they're so tender together. He makes my tummy flip.”

@josh@masto.byrd.ws My best friend in our mid-teens went to university while I went to sea, and we lost contact until our 60s when he found me online. He was a professor of economics and an arrogant man. I didn't stay in touch long. He's the only economist I've ever known, but if he's a good example then I'd say they're best avoided.
