Knowing that books are cut up, scanned, and then thrown away or even burned is a cruel realization for me It is a deeply cruel act It is evidence of a world that has lost its moral compass— a world that no longer knows what is right or wrong 1/3 #mastodon #fediverse #YouWinAgainSi #freedom #reading #writing #thoughts #books #education #AI

Once again, a heartfelt thank you, Fedi, and to all the wonderful people here 🙏 ❤️ ________ Sometimes it’s really hard to please everyone, or to try to please everyone. But above all, reaching some people with what you write and giving them something beautiful through it. Encouragement, understanding, love, and light—that can warm and illuminate everything 1/5 #mastodon #fediverse #writing #YouWinAgainSi #GiveThemAVoice #love #help #tolerance #wisdom

Thank you for sharing this and letting me see it 🙏 -- Poetry can bring so many things into the world and portray them for all of us in a unique way --- and your mother recognized that. You can try desperately
to be tolerant and
open-minded,
but this can only really work if you try to consider all sides of a story.

Listen to others’ concerns and don’t judge them

We should be careful about judging, about jumping to conclusions about a person

Because we shouldn’t drift into inhumanity out of a desire for humanity

Irini ❤️
Have a wonderful day, everyone

When thoughts only torment you and you can no longer find some distance Where is the blade of grass that holds you steady despite everything in the world that torments you You cling on through the pain To find the courage to keep fighting Often the pain wears you down And your body resists The strength not to give up To keep striving on To find happiness someday And live life joyfully Even if the horizon isn’t in sight yet Hope remains that you’ll finally find it Irini #YouWinAgainSi

Replying to

@benroyce@mastodon.social I'm not German; I was born and raised here. I lived and worked in Greece for a few years, but had to leave again during the crisis. The AFD scares me, and I've already prepared myself to leave Germany, if they join the government. I think many foreigners also have a misguided view and support this party. 2/2 @QasimRashid@mastodon.social

Replying to

@benroyce@mastodon.social Your nightmare scenario is often so close to becoming a reality here in Europe. Yes, things have become scary in too many countries in Europe. One could be cynical and say we should view the U.S. as a deterrent, but that’s not being done—partly because of a very short-sighted and naive mindset—and it wouldn’t be very nice, either. 1/2 @QasimRashid@mastodon.social

Replying to

@VeroniqueB99@mastodon.social No, nothing is hidden from us anymore; everything is laid out before us. And this, with so many issues that affect us all— and yet so many people simply refuse to look and take action. No matter how small the protest, every little bit helps.

When is a billionaire finally going to come along and save us from all the others? Hey Irini, wake up... (There are no heroes, just money-hungry, malicious creatures who want to rule the world. Yeah, they’ve always been around, but now they’re admitting it and they’ve almost succeeded. Shit!!) Yeah, yeah, my inner monologues always go like this and help me every now and then to snap back to reality. I hope you’re all doing well out there.
