Hey Indie App Devs, I looking for some input on an app I'm building for iPhone, iPad, and Mac that gives people one place to keep the practical details of how their home works and share that knowledge with someone else. Think about all the things one person in a household tends to know: which air filter to buy, how to restart the internet equipment, where the water shutoff is, which appliance setting actually works, or who to call when something needs attention. Those details can end up scattered across photos, messages, manuals, sticky notes, and memory. The idea is to turn that knowledge into an easy-to-use guide to your particular home. The question behind it is: Could someone else run your home if you were away? What I want it to do. The planned experience would let you: Create entries for equipment, household routines, and other useful things to know, with clear instructions and locations.Add photos, PDF manuals, part numbers, and relevant service contacts so the information stays together.Find the right information quickly through search, favorites, and QR labels placed near the things they describe.Set reminders for recurring tasks, such as replacing a filter.Share useful information with a partner, family member, house sitter, or someone moving into the home. Selected PDF guides and shared household access are possibilities being worked through. For example, an entry for the furnace could show where the filter goes, the correct replacement size, a photo, the manual, and a reminder. A QR label nearby could lead back to those details when someone needs them. Where I want it to go. I want it to be useful from the first thing someone adds, with room to grow into a reference the whole household can rely on. It should feel approachable to both the person documenting everything and the person who just needs a quick answer. Homeowners and renters should both be able to see a use for it. There's an early working prototype for creating, organizing, and finding text entries. Photos, PDFs, QR labels, and reminders are part of the planned direction; syncing and sharing details are still being designed. The name and personality. I'm looking for a name that's creative but recognizable: memorable, comfortable to say, and connected in some way to home, everyday knowledge, helpful guidance, or passing information along. A made-up word or an unexpected combination could work if the connection makes sense. I want the visual identity to have personality, with room for expressive typography, color, or an interesting symbol or character. The name and design are still open. What would you call an app like this? I'd love name ideas and the thinking behind them. What does the name make you picture? What would you expect the app to do? And what is one thing in your own home you'd want to document first? #IndieDev #AppDev #IndieApps #iPhoneApps

Identity provider Okta is investing heavily to secure the agents enterprise, but even authenticated agents can do harm, leaving room for debate in the hotly contested agentic AI security space.

A client can have a legitimate complaint and still ask for the wrong fix. Turning off MFA or giving everyone admin access can leave a bigger problem behind. I wrote about where MSPs need to push back, what they owe the client, and when a service needs a firm boundary. https://www.kylereddoch.me/blog/the-customer-isnt-always-right-about-it/ #MSP #ITSupport #Cybersecurity
