#UK #Government guidance allows #English councils to create new local authority bus companies (LABCos) after the Bus Services Act 2025 removed the previous restriction. The guidance outlines legal, financial, governance and operational issues councils should consider before setting one up.
A LABCo is optional and one of several ways to improve bus services, alongside franchising and enhanced partnerships. Councils must assess the benefits, funding, leadership, skills and long-term sustainability before proceeding. They can create a new company or buy an existing operator, with options to run services independently or as part of wider transport arrangements. The guidance also covers procurement, subsidy control, employment matters and local government changes. Existing LABCos include #Blackpool Transport, #Ipswich Buses, #Nottingham City #Transport, Reading Buses and Warrington’s Own Buses.

Sexual Health Services in #Nottinghamshire have a survey about their current website: https://www.sexualhealthnn.co.uk/latest-news/sexual-health-services-nottingham-and-nottinghamshire-website-feedback-survey/
However, nobody who visits a sexual health clinic every really wants to fill in a survey - and nobody every wants to fill in a survey about "what do you think of our website". So the whole of the NHS design will be based on the 16 people who have replied.
You can help! Fill it in with useful suggestions - even if you don't live/work in #Nottingham. Otherwise we are left in a feedback loop of the same dozen people who complete survey's.

🏴📔🚍🚆🚈🚇 The #UK #Government has launched a new national #transport strategy aimed at making journeys across #England simpler, cheaper and better connected. It will give local leaders powers and funding to expand contactless “tap-and-go” travel across #buses, #trains and #trams, building on systems in cities such as #London and #Nottingham. The plan includes over 40 commitments, alongside measures to keep travel affordable, such as fare caps and fuel duty freezes. A new partnership with Google will provide real-time bus tracking via Google Maps, particularly benefiting rural areas. Other initiatives include a £6 million Peak District pilot to better link buses and trains, and expansion of a national parking platform to simplify payments. The strategy also provides £40 million for local transport technology trials and new guidance to help councils deliver joined-up networks.

I miss this #bike. It got recalled with the frame issues from babboe which Raleigh rebadged.
It was an absolute tank and turned heads. Once or twice we had it full of #coffee for delivery if you include the run to the post office.
This is in #Nottingham in front of the Robin Hood statute and we took it to #Sheffield when we moved. The recall was in place by then though but took them over a year to collect it.
Lovely to have a bit of normality at a tough time for our family by going to the rugby last night.
Only problem was "which team is which?"

Strange being on a bus from #Nottingham during rush hour and seeing empty seats.
Guess there aren't that many people working in the city centre now.
Taking the #Meshcore to London for the weekend. Last time I was there I got signals from 80+ devices and messages being repeated from 100 miles away.
#Nottingham does not have that reach.
