Thought this might be 'the moon is a harsh mistress ' by heinlein as it's a while since I read it but a quick look at Wikipedia and it isn't. It's a cracking book tho, written in 1966 but set in 2075 and has some superb prescience...

Lovely to have a bit of normality at a tough time for our family by going to the rugby last night. Only problem was "which team is which?" #rugby #champ #archers #nottingham

Keep thinking now would be a good time for a Europe based phone manufacturer (remember the dominance of Nokia!?) to really get back in the game?

I can't understand why people fail to see through Musk's games. I'm still astonished by the Tesla package considering their profits are dropping like a stone principally due to his decisions... From: @cstross@wandering.shop https://wandering.shop/@cstross/115995187467947699

Having tough time at the mo due to an unexpected bereavement and really missing having the Olympics to zone out to. Was just reminded that the Paralympics are coming soon and felt a bit more positive 🏂

Hadn't spotted that somehow openvibe had logged me out of blue sky, so I'd been only seeing and posting to mastodon and threads. Hello again all!

UK's Eurovision song is suitably bonkers. I love it! https://youtu.be/8XR2RvfZ-68?si=ySgOHaAojT_9bagF

Managed to remove 2TB from Dropbox and downgrade my plan, which feels like a semi-victory in my battle to de-US-ify my tech. Long way to go.

Any Envato Elements experts on here? Have a subscription and wonder if it's possible to search for non-AI music? Would prefer to support artists as best I can

We made a short on pots&trowels about controlling moss in a lawn. Might also need one about how amazing spaghnum moss is at sequestering carbon

Researching new #camera for Pots&Trowels. The criteria, light, good quality 50pHD with decent face detection autofocus (ruling out some older cams) & crucially audio in & out & a useable EVF as well as a screen. The various AI models failed miserably to help, old fashioned spec scouring will begin!

Think he's just come on. Commentator was amusing as he said something along the lines of "players X, Y & Z now come on for the players in brown, brown and brown..."
