It's nearly time for the next Radical Routes Gathering.

RR is a network of radical #cooperatives working for "Homes without landlords. Work without bosses" with grassroots control and economic revolution through #cooperation.

15th – 17th May 2026

This in-person gathering at Earthworm Housing Co-operative in Herefordshire
will be blended with digital access to all main meetings and workshops.

Gatherings are open to everyone:
- Delegates of member co-ops
- Other co-op members, associates and friends who want to participate in the network
- People from new or existing co-ops who are interested in joining
- Random other visitors or interested people.

Haringey Solidarity Group have published their latest newsletter with their perspective on forthcoming elections.

It is a call to "do things differently" noting the thousands of groups taking control of their own communities with d-i-y solutions based on cooperation, rather than relying on others building positions of power.

An Introduction to Radical Routes

Radical Routes is a network of radical housing co-ops, workers co-ops and social centres. Their members are committed to working for positive social change.

Social Centres, such as #SumacCentre, have a strong past history of mutual support with Radical Routes but, for reasons to be explored on Friday, all have fallen aside. Sumac Centre is keen to rejoin Radical Routes to strengthen this bond, and maybe build a bridge with the Social Centres Network.

This session hopes to lead to a presentation by Sumac at the 15-17th May Radical Routes Gathering, before potentially joining in August.

Could Zurich’s housing cooperatives be the solution to the rest of Europe’s housing crisis

One in every five citizens in Zurich now lives in a cooperative – meaning they have bought a share in the company that built and owns their apartment block.

This means that despite being a major global financial hub and pleasantly located on the edge of a large lake, poorer, younger people, families and students can still find somewhere they can afford in the centre of the city.

Since they secured Glenorchy Centre as home to #Wirksworth Housing Co-operative they've welcomed over 150 people to enjoy the space - from hosting musicians for a local festival; to afternoon tea with investors, friends & neighbours; to big wholesome dinners with the local queer group to kids parties.

Whilst a housing co-operative feels like an obvious way to live, the capitalist system sees equality & security as an incredibly political act.

Perennial Housing Co-op had a really lovely time staffing their first Radical Routes stall at London Anarchist Bookfair last month.

A stall also appeared at the Bristol #Anarchist Bookfair, assisted by #SumacCentre.
