All ICBMs (be they MRVs, MIRVs, MARVs or unitary warheads) have been "hypersonic" missiles since they were developed in the 1950s/60s, as their warheads re-enter at summat like Mach 18. #MAD is still a viable doctrine - questionable if it survives U.S. development of Donald Tantrump's Golden Shower (sorry, Golden Dome) system, but we've been here before with Reagan's #SDI ('twas more economic warfare than technological - as is #Trump's SDI 2.0)
