@2003MugishaPhocit@mastodon.social Of a sort, all political parties promise a Utopia of the sort they think will encourage voters to vote for them. Ergo one could say every politition offers bribes and every voter accepts them. #fediverse #mastodon #localelections

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 STATE OF THE PARTIES AT 19:00: Labour has now lost more than 1000 seats, to the benefit of Reform and the Greens. Though they are holding up relatively well in London, where counting continues. #ukpoli #Election2026 #LocalElections

I'm a bit surprised with my home borough. I was half-expecting Reform to do much better here than they did. Though I now better understand why I saw no campaigning here whatsoever. #ukpoli #Election2026 #LocalElections

Reform has been making strong gains in every region in England. Except for London. They won control of Havering, but very few seats anywhere else in the capital. #ukpoli #Election2026 #LocalElections

Sums up the current political moment perfectly. #banksy #flagshaggers #localelections

Reform has taken control of Havering. It was one of the few London boroughs to vote Leave ten years ago. And it's possible that one or two other boroughs in outer east London could be taken over as well later today. #ukpoli #Election2026 #LocalElections

Dear Reform voters, I know we have different opinions, but let me reach out and say. Before you go vote today, remember Farage and Tice have stated on multiple occasions they want to disband and break up the NHS, there is a reason they have billionaires giving large sums of money - and that’s not including the 5 million to Nigel personally. You had 14 years of Tory shit and now reform are full of the same people. I know Labour and the rest are a fucking disaster and you want something different- but a new Tory party built for and owned by the rich isn’t different. #politics #toryscum #tories #conservatives #ukpolitics #bbc #news #EU #Labour #keirstarmer #Starmer #labourparty #RejoinEU #ReformUK #farage #nigelfarage #immigration #farageisalyingsackshit #ReformAreUseless #farageisaracist #farageisatraitor #vote #LocalElection #elections #localelections #localelections2026

Imagine a scenario where you are heading off to buy a sandwich. The choice is quite limited though. On offer there is the tuna and mayo sandwich that you’ve always hated, but also an alternative version where they have replaced the mayo with sliced beetroot that just makes you wretch! The other alternative is a bacon sandwich, which you’ve always enjoyed, however: you prefer smoked streaky bacon that isn’t too crispy, but this is unsmoked back bacon where the fat has been to burnt to a crisp. For some reason they’ve also added sliced avocado which they refuse to leave out! What you really fancy is a pastrami, cheese and pickle bagel with mild mustard, but it’s not available where you live. The worst thing about it is whichever sandwiches proves to be the most popular will be the only sandwich available for the foreseeable future! Anyway, I have to vote in the local elections later and it looks like I have to vote tactically! #LocalElections #VoteTactically #StopReform #StopFascism

‘Most #Reform led councils have failed to deliver. Despite plenty of local campaign literature promising reduced taxes, several have acknowledged that they were unable to find waste. All Reform councils have raised council tax, in some cases having to request government approval to raise them above the government limit. All have failed to cut borrowing.’ #LocalElectionshttps://eastangliabylines.co.uk/party-politics/reform-in-power-do-people-know-what-they-are-voting-for/

If you’re unsure about who deserves your vote next Thursday but want to keep Reform out, then you should vote tactically. Here’s a link https://tacticalvote.co.uk/ #VoteTactically #MayElections #LocalElections #StopReform #StopFascism #UKElections

Just caught a couple of guys stuffing a Reform leaflet through our letter box. Ripped it up in front of them and called them fascists. Good deed of the day done... #UkPol #Reform #LocalElections

Two long-serving Black women councillors have been blocked from standing for Labour in one of its safest wards in Croydon – while Keir Starmer’s niece, a woman in her mid-20s who interned for a Labour government minister last year, has been selected to stand in their place ahead of next Thursday’s local elections. #Starmer #Labour #UKPolitics #LocalElections Starmer's niece selected for safe Croydon seat as two Black women councillors are deselected https://thedailybritain.co.uk/starmer-niece-ellie-sandover-croydon-black-councillors-deselected-2026/
