#jollaphone

I've seen tech reviews saying that the worst thing about the #Jollaphone is its camera. I figured it wouldn’t be much different from my Nothing or my Ikko Mindone, which have terrible cameras. I was surprised to find that it’s much better than the reviews make it out to be. Since I love taking close-up photos, I’m very satisfied. #Jolla #SailfishOS #degoogle #degafam #photography #nature #walking #hiking

Ok, so the new Jolla Phone arrived today. Will write a nuanced review when I've used it a bit but for now it really seems like the Linux phone I always wanted. Here is the very brief first impressions score. Customer & buying experience 2/10 Unboxing 7/10 Hardware quality 8/10 Software experience 9/10 Android compatibility 9/10 If you are ready to tinker a little and can manage on your own, buy it! #jolla #jollaphone #Jolla2026 #jollaphone2026 #digitalsovereignty

I got my #JollaPhone!! 🥳 https://forum.sailfishos.org/t/jolla-phone-update-pre-orders-shipping-status-and-progress/32269/91 @jolla@techhub.social #sailfishos

According to uptime I'm now a full week into my Jolla Phone 2 adventure. I absolutely love the phone. Phone calls are crisp and clear, no connectivity issues so far, Bluetooth works with all devices I've tried it with (not many, but VAPPEBY Portable, Sennheiser Momentum M2 AEBT, Shure AONIC 40 and Toyota Touch 2 with Go). Signal works (both natively using Whisperfish available on Storeman or using the Android app through AppSupport). Other than that I've got Bitwarden and Authenticator going, Nextcloud sync, Obsidian, my bank's app, my public transit service's app, my mail service's app and a lot of other stuff. The fingerprint scanner is super fast and unlocks the phone the moment I touch it. It all feels really smooth. I can't seem to organize icons on the app menu, which is something I'd like to do; I'm sure there's a patch or dot file for that, but it should be easily accessible. On the home screen you can see open apps, but the screen preview/thumbnails are often missing so I have to guess what apps they are. I hope that is also fixed in an upcoming release. When it comes to photo quality it is quite good in daylight, but in low light settings it's terrible. I'll get around to posting some samples later. I previously said speaker audio is not good, but it's actually not that bad. I did an informal comparison for myself between the iPhone 14 and the Jolla 2 and I think the iPhone is slightly better—sound feels fuller on the iPhone, while there's a bit of a reverb/accent thing going on with the Jolla. Regarding build quality, I've dropped it twice. Got a beauty dent, but other than that, all good. #Jolla #JollaPhone #SailfishOS #DigitalSovereignty

@Tutanota@mastodon.social My favorite is the one that has independent European mobile OS in it, #JollaPhone made by #Jolla and running #SailfishOS. Hope you review it one day also! And can't wait to have native Tuta apps for it ;) #digitalsovereignty

I usually don't post links to commercial websites, but for this I am making an exception. What a quirky product launch. Emotions exploding, at least by northern European standards. I love every second of it and now I am upset I didn't go there! Jolla and SailfishOS should be much more in public focus. It is a great product and driven by a European mindset. Data protection, privacy, functionality and design (Of course, it's from Scandinavia!). We have a European mobile platform and should use it! And no, modified Androids are not really the answer... We need sovereignty from Big Tech in hardware, software and usability/ecosystem. #jolla #jollaphone #jolla2 #theotherhalf #sailfish #sailfishoshttps://friprogramvarusyndikatet.tv/w/5J46hvyrarwMitppQLGrGA

Someone made a really great, native Sailfish OS app for Immich and it inspired me to finally get it set up on my home server. Really handy for automatic photo and video backup! Immich and this app are really great pieces of kit. #JollaPhone #SailfishOS

Alright, colour me intrigued by the #JollaPhone. I have not really kept up with the developments of #SailfishOS nor #Jolla, but this new device does have many things that I wish I would have on my Android device. And all the banking apps etc work. It is also great to see cool tech coming out from #Finland. https://youtu.be/lY-Ar0iY1_8?is=BK0tJ8-s4cbNCcm6

Tällä hetkellä ainoa sovellus jota ei saa toimimaan ja aspa vastasi että "hanki Android tai iOS" on MobilePay. Joten, kiitos ja näkemiin. #JollaPhone #SailfishOS #MobilePay #KiitosHei

The Day after Day1.

#Jolla #JollaDay1 #Rail_and_Sail_2_Jolla #SailfishOS

Jolla Phone matters more than ever. Every Android phone, every iPhone; your data, habits, convos: processed, analyzed, stored on someone else's terms. Jolla spent 12 years in wilderness keeping Sailfish OS alive through die-hard community. Next to them mobile OS graveyard filled up with names like Symbian, MeeGo, Firefox OS, Windows Phone - Jolla survived. • Physical privacy switch (kill cam/mic) • Replaceable battery • Android app compatibility (practical) #JollaPhone #SailfishOS #european
