#TIL Al Lewis (Grandpa Munster in The Munsters, Leo Schnauser in Car 54, Where Are You?) presented a series of VHS releases of horror & scifi movies, mostly public domain & several shown in the #Monsterdon watch party, from Amvest Video. Le CERN repose sur un porte-à-faux normatif. Côté pile, il revendique une science éthérée, neutre, pure affaire de l’esprit, qui justifie de ne pas être expliquée en détail au profane. Sous cet angle, les applications en aval ne relèvent pas de ses prérogatives. Côté face, il entend développer des partenariats « utiles à la société » ; Raphaël Bello insiste sur le rôle structurant du CERN aux échelles régionales, nationales et internationales.

Le FCC est un énième exemple de la fuite en avant du libéralisme.

En réponse à l’obsolescence du LHC, le CERN ne semble pas avoir d’alternative au développement d’un outil superlatif comme le FCC, indépendamment du fait que la théorie soit cette fois-ci en retard par rapport à la technologie.
