I stumbled on this amazing french audio book project when I was looking to buy the Comte de Montecristo. It would be so great to start an audio book project for Swedish audio books and get funding from donations and perhaps Swedish government and culture foundations to pay for proper recordings. I updated my #python library that downloads #audiobooks from Libro.fm

Besides updating things so it works with the API once more, I modified it to skip books that have already been downloaded. Yes, this is an obvious change.

I also added a --force option to redownload everything if you want to.

If you are a romance or erotica author or narrator, be forewarned.

Others probably already know this, but if you let your #Audible subscription lapse, you will not get titles back that were previously in the included in Audible Plus subscription thing or whatever if you re-subscribe. Just be sure to download and keep all your titles, even if you purchase with cash/credit because I've had to pay for titles twice even though I paid for titles in the past and the book is still published.

When I got up at around 7am after about eight hours of sleep, it was absolutely pouring down outside. So I did some of my work first, then warmed up and went outside. My timing was right, not a drop of rain on me during the run. Looking for an Android app that will create binaural beats in audio streamed to the device by other apps - audiobooks via Audible, audio via YT etc. (Search engines return a morass of binaural beat app but nothing that works on the fly. I know I can download the streams then use Audicity or similar to change the frequency in one of the channels. Listening to audiobooks often gently calms me down. My mind is frequently racing with thoughts, unable to focus. Just putting on an audiobook while doing non-mental draining tasks (like household chores for instance) helps tremendously with that. It shifts my mind to the story, the thoughts are redircted at a fixed thing - the story - and I'm able to concentrate better on the task or to be more efficient because my thoughts aren't all over the place for once. #books #audiobooks #mentalhealth
