Old Ellicott City Main Street last night: friendly local astronomer has started setting up a telescope by the old Post Office weekend evenings. Got a lovely detailed view of the moon.

All 15 miles, through the harbor, the sand, the mud, and Fed Hill, our Baltimore Row Castle and its dragon survived the American Visionary Art Museum's Kinetic Sculpture Race.
Bmore Scrap creative reuse shop estimates we donated 65 pounds of yarn today from a late family member, in batches sized for small throw blankets. If you're local and that's your thing, go get it. Especially uh if you are into Lisa Frank rainbow stripes.

Big ice storm this past winter cracked open the hollows of this lovely old cherry tree such that it needs to come down soon before it falls apart in the road, but for now it is giving the best show and it's nice to be able to share that with the world.

The new fig tree is a Souadi, a rain and cold tolerant variety from Lebanon, as originally imported by Trees of Joy, who have been lovely to work with. The fruit is purple-black and doesn't require wasps, so basically perfect. And while I'm really excited to see how it thrives here, it's in a pot for a while yet, just in case.
