@jon@social.vivaldi.net @Vivaldi@social.vivaldi.net I wish yous would contribute to Chromium/Blink more because they really could use help when it comes to just engineering wisdom and experience. Way too much of the engineering/technical side is left to Google employees and a lot of that is because no one else is stepping up to really contribute. Google has an imperfect engineering culture, it's not good for Chromium and the open web

@jensimmons@front-end.social hey Jen, I don't think this is Safari's fault but maybe you could tell the Apple website team about this issue: basically, Safari now supports HDR photos as well as HDR video but when you go to the iPhone website and look at the samples of photos taken with the iPhone, they seem to be in SDR, it's like someone has stripped out the HDR from the photos or the Apple website just doesn't support HDR photos yet? Just go here and scroll down to the camera section and look at the samples. Basically this issue is making the iPhone camera look less impressive, so it's a high priority I would say https://www.apple.com/iphone-17-pro/

It should be updated for the new Nova colors, so it's perfect timing and an easy fix https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1905562

@firefoxnightly@mastodon.social my biggest complaint/wish for the Nova redesign for the iPhone is to get rid of this bar that pops up when you start typing in the URL bar! It's just a waste of space and visual clutter and also, if you're using your phone with 1 hand and bottom bar, it's taking up the "1st position" slot where I'd be able to just tap. PLEASE I beg you to fix this for Nova!

@jon@social.vivaldi.net @Vivaldi@social.vivaldi.net I will say, Mozilla giving up on something doesn't mean it's bad. Mozilla makes lots of bad decisions too (as well as amazing decisions). But I agree don't bet the company on Servo, I'm just curious what Vivaldi engineers think of the browser engine situation. Google basically makes all the engineering decisions for Blink, which is not great
