#wipWednesday
I was hoping it might be finished Wednesday today but as I was blocking and ironing it I spotted something I need to do 🫣 drat. Oh well, back to the hoop!
#WIPWednesday Before and after.
Last time I tooted about this piece I wasn't at all happy with it. A couple of weeks on and I've added more texture and shading, and some ox eye daisies and foxgloves (as everything is better with daisies and foxgloves) and...
I think I'm done!
Not so #silentsunday
We demolished Dad's shed today and got it into the skip. In the process we encountered this abandoned wasp nest which I couldn't help but admire as it is so beautifully constructed.
The first 2 photos are mine, the 3rd is off the Internet just to give some idea of what it would have looked like in situ (I found it on the floor, after we'd pulled the roof down).

#photomonday - St Ann's Well, a 5000 year old geothermal spring which rises to the well from ½ a mile/1 km below ground and emerges at a steady 27 °C (80 °F).
A 16th-century act of Parliament ruled that a free supply of the spring water must be provided for the town's residents.
Even though Buxton Mineral water is now sold commercially, the well remains free and you can always see someone with a bag or even a carboot full of bottles.
It just occurred to me how rarely I take pictures of people nowadays. Before the internet I took candid photos all the time - as I love people watching. The stolen moments were just for my own photo albums/travel journals, so it felt ok... ish.
Now, my shots are empty, people less, or the people are background only, hopefully unrecognisable...
This digital age is already too intrusive and to me it feels wrong... but it makes me #sad and I just realised, more disconnected somehow...

Walking across the 'Roof of Africa'
I loved these very cute pigeon babies and mum in their lantern fortress. Kudos to Mum for building that nest, there!
For #firstfridayArtWalk here's a fabric collage inspired by a winter I spent in Andalusia. I wanted to remember the layers of buildings clustered up steep hillsides, shadows on the cobbles from the low sun, the oranges, and the ever present threat of a sudden storm. It's not framed yet, or even ironed as I'm still thinking about it... Meanwhile it's on the mantle piece waiting.

Time shall spring forward, or some times fall back.
Chariots shall then be one hour outside of time for six months. Also machines of tiny waves.
"I haveth a Dream... And a song to singeth which helpest me to cope, with all matter of things.
If thou also canst see the wonder of a faerie tale, thou canst take the future.
Even if thou doth not succeed."
