@wardi@arabi.gay I don't know about tigers, but I've been cuddled plenty by bears. They usually only want to eat a specific part of me afterwards 😅

Dinner (instant noodles, instant pasta two times, nacho chips and -- because I'm fancy -- a little bottle of cava (in a paper cup, because the train isn't))

I did make it to Prague, with a 30-minute delay. So now it's 4 days of #SuseCon26.

@leeloo Probably the same way ATMs (at least in Europe) have worked for years now. If the connection to your bank is down, you can still take out money at an ATM. When the connection is back up, the money is deducted, whether there is enough in your account or not. You pay no interest, the charge is dated to the correct day.

@ShadSterling @blinry With debuginfod it's not even necessary to install the debug symbols anymore on most major Linux distributions, gdb or whatever program needs them can just download them on demand. At least Fedora also automatically downloads the matching source file. See https://sourceware.org/elfutils/Debuginfod.html

I've never seen my old home town of Apeldoorn like this before: quiet and flashing by as my bed zooms by.

@steinarb@mastodon.social The EBU muted booing of Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2024 (https://theintercept.com/2025/05/17/eurovision-censored-israel-booing-free-palestine/) European media are happy to protect fascism just as much as USAmerican media. (Insert obligatory "not all media" here)

Audio Analysis: Eurovision Broadcaster Muted Sounds of Crowd Booing and Shouting “Free Palestine!”

Despite Eurovision denials, an audio analysis shows booing and a “Free Palestine!” cry during Israeli singer Eden Golan’s 2024 performance.

Fuck! Got on the train to Ede-Wageningen, then remembered I was checked in with NS, not Rrreis. Sprinted onto the platform to check out with NS and in with Rrreis, as the train just left. With my fucking luggage in it. Luckily, there were 2 Rrreis security people in the train who saw it happen, so I hope my luggage is safe. Of course, NS Security can't directly contact Rrreis Security (why make it easy for travelers, right?), but they pointed me to the little Rrreis office on platform 5. Rang the bell there. Explained the situation to the driver who opened the door. He couldn't contact Security either (why make it easy for travelers, right?), but my luggage should be back at Amersfoort Centraal by 9 o'clock. So now just waiting here for the train to come back (it travels back and forth, so it always comes back here). I hate this fucking system with different check-ins for different companies!

@leeloo 1. No, a safety feature so people are not cut off from their own money. 2. If your bank does this (I only know about the banking system in the Netherlands and surrounding countries), it's in your contract or one of the underlying terms and conditions you signed for, so it's you who failed to do your due diligence. 3. You should check how long a card transaction takes to clear, because it's usually at least one business day and you are in debt until it clears, technically.

@leeloo Umm, I'm Dutch, never even been to the Americas. But reading what you sign for is pretty standard all over the world, I would hope? And I can't believe your bank has never updated its terms since the 80s.

@apalrd@hachyderm.io I wish I did, but as far as I know, systemd-networkd does not support network namespaces still (https://github.com/systemd/systemd/pull/14915) I have switched to ifstate (https://ifstate.net/) for systems where I need to setup network namespaces.

@apalrd@hachyderm.io ifstate hasn't let me down yet, very happy with it. The only downside is that it doesn't come with a systemd unit to run it, but that's pretty easy to write yourself.

@toroidalcore@masto.hackers.town A /60 would probably work for me, I don't have that many subnets, but it gives me room to expand my network if necessary. And the /48 allows me to neatly map a /64 to each VLAN. I have one fixed IPv4 address as well and if I pay extra I can get a /29 as well, but I don't need that (yet).
