I do do tattoos btw, I've just been slow to sharing them. Here's a few I did relatively recently :]
Its very nice to have them all lined up and easy to reference instead of digging through a mess of sketches and 3 years out of date references.
I think there is also this expectation in my head that refs need to be polished and detailed, but thats not really the case.
Showing off this flyer I just got done making for my tattoo stuff.
My printer is getting old, which is a bit of an asset for me bc i like when my stuff looks a little grungy 😌
RE: @tombofnull@voidwood.online
This story's up on my website with slightly more detailed transcripts. :]

Man the text handling in the latest Krita release is a HUGE improvement to what was available prior. :'D
Hi. Im behind bc this bug was kicking my ass. Over the worse of it i think, dealing with a terribly annoying residual cough 😒 anyway, cross posting:
Anonymous: "Why only so many colors in your art?"
Several reasons:
- I originally narrowed my color palette bc i was making my work easier to diy screenprint and to print zines and the like on my old b+w laser printer.
- Paint+ink+etc is expensive, so sticking with a narrow set of colors helps me keep stuff in budget I do like deviating and--
- one thing i wish i could find clear info on is the archival quality of these inks when used in this context. While these inks should stay vibrant in skin for years [assuming good care on the client and proper application by the tattoo artist], idk what that looks like when used on paper. Skin =/= paper after all. My gut says it prob wont fade much, but i know these inks can contain extra stuff like IPA--
--similar to working with watercolors from a tube, or even like a gouche with a thinner body and a less matte finish. It also soluble like a watercolor. Tat ink to my knowledge has been used for this purpose for trad flash sheets in some circles, so this isn't exactly new territory.
- Considering using some of the slow-dry acrylic medium with this ink to give it those properties and some waterfastness
- can also reuse the bottles for custom mixes of airbrush paints
