🚲 Young nibling, quoting a youtube video, probably:

"bicycles help people to more and more freedom"

Then goes on to quote how men had horse and carriages but women could get on a bike without permission. Plus, because they are less expensive, it makes it more accessible.

Started to type a "dunk." Stopped. Deleted it. You get this instead.

for lunch I took a little 🚲 around the nearby cross-country route. Some hawks flew along with me for a part of the ride.

Ollipop Shirley Temple drink was a nice treat when I got home.

> That is the real idol with which Trump wants to identify himself: the personification of American power, with doves and angels replaced by fighter planes and bombers. And I am very much afraid that American Christians have entirely paved the road he now trods. The blasphemy and the idolatry are not new, and not his: he’s only singing a song he heard on the radio. If you were shocked by his little AI gag, my friends, you simply have not been paying attention.

⚽️ #FSCP awards first Peace Price. It goes to Wes Burdine of Black Hart in St. Paul, Minnesota.

https://www.fcstpauli.com/en/news/fc-st-pauli-awards-peace-prize

> The first recipient is Wes Burdine, owner of the Black Hart of St. Paul in Minnesota. His bar is far more than a meeting place for soccer fans: it is an inclusive space for the queer community and a place of lived solidarity. In recent months, Burdine and his network have organized support for people affected by targeted immigration enforcement actions.

> The award also includes a donation to an initiative chosen by him: the Hamline Midway Diaper, Formula, Hygiene & Medical Supply Hub Fund. The organization provides essential supplies to people in difficult circumstances and has already distributed hundreds of thousands of items.

⚽️ Seeing reporters get confused because of the expanded (cash grab) tournament. The “knockouts” started earlier this tournament.

The #USMNT is often a round of 16 team. (FIFA rankings reflect this.)

The question is whether they have become a round of 8 (or better) team.

Chances are hurt by the poor red call on Balogun, but it’s still possible. #WorldCorrupt

📺 finished _Paradise_ season 2 last night. Still feels like "Lost meets This Is Us" for good and for ill.

It ended with the type of "reveal" I had been expecting since earlier in the season. A revelation which has my spouse saying "No thanks, I'm done with this show".

We'll see if I pick up the next season.

on the other hand, I'm going to think about this as Senegal getting revenge on Doctor Congo's behalf.

@JohnBrady I think it was you who posted about Stella & Foster.

I gave it a trial to see if I could use it for something like severe weather alerts and text-based directions if I left my smartphone behind.

Looks like it uses a very poor LLM on the background that does not follow instructions and repeatedly gets things wrong even after feedback.

Example, I got this text today:

"(No response sent to user - criteria for severe weather warning not met)"

⚽️ NOW he chooses to use the cards?

There's a "disable boosts" setting, but what I want even more is a "disable self-boosts".

I know there's a good reason for some people to use them, but I treat my follows like a feed and only need posts once.

How do I mute a whole instance? #askfedi
