'The Autonomous Garden' is the last food project I worked on in New England.
This urban food forest grows enough pears, peaches, plums, rhubarb, & strawberries for the year in addition to seasonal salad greens, potatoes, and tomatoes. All for the cost of a few stolen lawn bags and homemade compost.
The houses 10kw solar system creates surplus energy for one unit in the multifamily home.
Rainwater catchment and mulch buried swales allow the gardens to survive 60 days of drought (tested).
Every dollar you don't spend at a corporation is a dollar they can't use against you.

Individual ownership is individual consumption.
Individual consumption is GDP.
GDP is growth.
Growth is the ideology of the cancer cell.
One washer for 10 households.
One commercial kitchen for 20.
One workshop for the block.
One car for the co-op.
The things you use every day,
you own.
The things you use once a month, you share.
The math is simple. The quality is better.
The community is the side effect.
Can I help you start growing your own food somehow?
Maybe I can make videos demonstrating ideas and discussing questions you have about growing your own food?
I could use the interaction honestly, you'd be doing me a favor.
I'm deciding to live as though civilization is going to end in that I am preparing for a post-industrialized lifestyle and no longer pursuing the benefits in society that will soon be obsolete.
In such a way that gives me hope for the future.
All the green onions a #gardener could need.

@ASardinianAbroad@mastodon.social @EUCommission@ec.social-network.europa.eu Because most parents are too lazy to keep their kids safe therefore everyone else's kids have to be made less safe by handing over their personal information to some tech bro in a massive corporation?
Come on. That's the great idea? The best they could come up with?
How about just educating parents and giving them local tools to protect their kids?
I want to set up an old school links page on my website. Since I'm starting to get traffic I thought it would be the right time.
Are there any personal sites in the #solarpunk #gardening #permaculture #anticapitalist or #art #songwriters #activism #westvirginia communities you would like to get added to that page?
I'm not seeking businesses, just people in line with the values of our site even if you sell something.
Found a tulip poplar on the farm.
A sample of the book I'm working on.
I wrote this line years ago in a song,
"I can't help, but interrupt, success when it comes around."
To this day I can't seem to finish my projects because of a fear of succeeding. I'm 100% comfortable with failure, that's easy. For me success is the issue.
The first of two books I'm writing is 98% finished. This one will be published within a few weeks. I've made a commitment and I'm getting it done.
Another line, "My dreams are self sabotage".
I'm getting too old, to fear success.

@ErikUden@mastodon.de I came across this video today that you might appreciate.

Well folks. The dangerous tree on my property, that I mentioned in my videos, has fallen safely, avoiding the house!
Will send pictures later.
Democrats out there right now figuring out how to back green candidates to make it impossible for Democratic socialists to win.
Building a new terrace to grow a years worth of onion, some echinacea, herbs, and other things too.
And how we stopped buying bedding for ducklings and chicks.
A word for the haters :)
I've been working on a subsistence farm planner, that allows you to plan your farm based off of land, bioregional reality (soil type, rainfall, etc.)
It isn't a garden planner. It is a system to sort out how you, and the people you care about can survive on the land you have available.
Which amount of which plants give you the most likely survival possibilities.
Like everything else I make it will be free when it is finished.
😂 it landed exactly where I predicted.
This is why I think vegetables should be the smallest part of your garden, if you care about Food Sovereignty and health.

@gwynnion@mastodon.social Truth. The system isn't going to reform itself into non-existence.
I'm convinced only a general strike will put power and sovereignty back into the hands of the people. To do that, we need Food Sovereignty or it will be a pretty short strike.
The freedom the market offers is the
freedom to choose your exploiter.

@eestileib@tech.lgbt @gwynnion@mastodon.social I'm happy to say, I've actually been to the golden Temple.
They are a great model for this.

@carapace@mastodon.social This is generally Pelman's work with more genetic diversity. His system is the way to win the game.
I think Vegetable gardens should be no-dig intensive but in staple plots, they should be rotated with animals, cover crops, and mulch, in my opinion.
I had a dream that my 15 yo son walked up to me, and started falling apart. There wasn't anything I could do to put him back together.
Every time I would try to fix one thing another would fall off.
On days like this I reaffirm that all I want to do for the near future is work on the land.
We have 315 potato plants across the farm.

This is like on of those, "let's release animal A to kill off animal B," then animal A becomes invasive.

@threeforks@mastodon.social I love this. Yes. I will sort out where to grow peanuts on my land and become one of the chosen.
What would you call out of work to do every time you had the resources?

@Greymalkin77@mastodon.social @gwynnion@mastodon.social ... and grow enough food to support the strike.
I'm working on converting an acre of my land into a food production system for my family, our animals, and the strikers.
We people with the land can be the spine of the strike and keep people fed.
Mostly we need people to fill the spaces they have with grains, legumes, an oil crop (we use sunflowers and hazelnuts) and potatoes.
They can collect those grains and beans until the strike begins.

@democratsabroad@mastodon.social doesn't matter. Anyone who isn't MAGA or a Republican gets my vote in the midterms.
It's a really low bar.

My kids get 2 hours a day on the internet. 20 minutes of that is educational. They have 1 hour of video games with friends.
We have their devices routed through content management systems that we control, that we understand and monitor.
What are you doing to protect your kids on the internet?
As an adult, I don't need corporations keeping my kids safe.
