Giving white #tea another try since I've found the fair cup and tiny cup help me appreciate lighter teas more than sitting down to the computer with a mug.

"Remember that time he ate my goldfish, and you lied and said I never had a goldfish? Then why did I have the bowl, Bart? Why. Did I have. The bowl?"
I have moderate knitting skills and very little understanding of sewing terminology, but can probably do anything I am able to look up.
It's cotton and viscose, and I'm fine with it being all black since the white slub probably isn't replicable. I don't know what thread/yarn I need, or what tools.
I also have some fingering weight rainbows I would like the look of if superwash merino wouldn't warp too much?

I'm getting that itch to buy a #tarot deck again but over the last 25 years I have bought like 7 and still literally only use the Goddess Deck by Kris Waldherr, my first purchase at like 14.
Which is especially strange as a nontheist.
Making groundnut stew from scratch and fufu from a box because I can only learn so many things in a day.
I went to two stores and couldn't find any cookie cutters. There's no cookie cutters in the baking section of Michael's.
Am I ancient? Do we not make cut out cookies anymore?

The very first time I had cilantro rice at a Chili's, I legitimately thought they sprayed my plate with cleaner. It is now one of my favorite herbs.
That doesn't track with what I've heard about how 'the cilantro gene' works.
But it's more recently occurred to me that I love rose and lavender and violet and 'tastes like perfume' isn't really a bad thing to me? Maybe I just like soap now. 🤷🏻♀️

Similarly, I often see people claim 'supertaster' as a reason for a limited palate, whereas I also think I taste a lot of things more strongly and specifically than other people, but it actually gives me more sensory-seeking issues with food, rather than aversions.
Like if there isn't contrast in flavors and sensations and textures, I find it very difficult to eat.
Previously living with two limited-palate partners was... rough.

I remember posting a snopes link on my (now former) sister-in-law's Facebook post about how Obama had banned some country song from ever being played on the radio because it was too patriotic or something. (It was a b-side from ten years prior, not so much banned as never on the radio to begin with.)
Her response was "Well I still believe in things like this."

@An0n Same. I just see a lot of people taking that answer as an unhappy person just misunderstanding what everyday happiness is. Like THEY can't fathom someone not being happy, so the unhappy person must just not understand the question.

@An0n I'm likewise skeptical, and every time the subject comes up people claim that anyone saying they aren't happy must not know that 'happy' doesn't mean excited and joyful all the time, it just means generally content.
I, uh, did not have any confusion there. Still no.

I think this hits for me because I *do* occasionally have that impulse, as a professional food person, to think 'oh my God just cook it yourself' before dialing back to reality.
Recognizing how silly that is, is what the self-host crowd is missing, I think.
I'm working on changing my reliance on big tech but I'm definitely not prepared to self-host everything tomorrow any more than the random non-baker is prepared to make macarons.
I've been playing and really enjoying Tiny Book Shop. 📚🌈
Plus I've added so many books from the game to my TBR
Anyone make #incense or have a favorite #SmallBusiness for it?
