I am not blind to the funding challenges that PyCon has been experiencing. They are in no position to turn down sponsorships. But I've never left a PyCon feeling bummed like I am this year, and that really sucks. 4/4

And not far from Microsoft's booth was Meta. The same Meta which has taken deliberate steps to make the LGBT community (trans folks in particular) feel less safe. "Python is for everyone", we are told, while Meta gets to address the community members it is actively working to endanger from the Pacific Ballroom stage. 3/4

I just made the mistake of installing and trying out #KDE since I hadn't used it since KDE4... only to find out that it vomited a bunch of garbage into dconf and overwrote a bunch of gtkrc and fontconfig files.
So here's your PSA: Create a different user account to try it out. Or just don't try KDE. It's not that great, and it messes with files it has no business touching.
